I must say this is quite the acquisition for Quantic. I look forward to how this new addition to the roster pans out, thus far it seems like both sides win: Quantic with some new blood in the team and Vile gets some structure that it was lacking before.

Shame to see Vile go, they were a great underdog team. Gotta worry that they'll lose some of that in the transition, and that some Vile players will get buried in the expanded roster and get less chances in team leagues etc.

That's good for Quantic.

Wow, what a rollercoaster couple of days for Quantic... This is really really really cool though.

Hard not to expect this number of players being a problem in the long run though. Sounds like a logistical and managerial nightmare for such a focused and involved team, even if the finances are in place. I hope I'm wrong though, Quantic fighting! ^^

Am I the only one that seems unimpressed by this line-up? Much of the players on Vile have dropped off the scene, except for a few (Illusion & State are an exception). Currently Spanishiwa is doing a lot more studying than he is playing SC2. Psy hasn't done ANYTHING lately...I didn't even know that he still played, and there are a handful of members that I haven't heard of. There are some break-out talents here, such as dDoRo and HasHe. This seems like a very cool merger, but also very underwhelming. I don't see Naniwa or anyone else getting much better practice or results from this move.

A lot of the players on Vile have a lot of potential, considering that many of them are part-time students and did not have the resources to completely work towards becoming better progamers. Many of us hope that Quantic can turn these promising talents into major competitors.

I thought Vile Illusion was more badass. It actually works as meaningful noun phrase.

Quantic, adj.: A homogeneous function of two or more variables having rational and irrational coefficients.

Mathematical concepts have illusions? What a vile thought....

Good to see all these NA players continuing to get support in some form or another. I think there is a lot of potential in that roster

Is there a chance we could see Quantic players in the GSTL as mercenaries for Startale (through the partnership)?

? Hasn't it always been obvious that the Quantic roster in KR does NOT practice with the NA roster? o_O

I'll preface this by saying that I am not in the know at Vile or Quantic.

Don't worry about the large roster size. It seemed like very few or none of the Vile players were salaried. So in most cases, Quantic would just have to pick up the flight/hotel for ex Vile members and would only do that if they felt it was worth it to send the player to a tournament. So what they've picked up is a nice list of talented players for very low cost that they only need to pay out if the player starts to show some results on that talent. Seems like a great move for Quantic.

Sad to see the Vile brand die as they were one of the cool up-and-coming NA teams, but the merge seemed necessary. Best of luck to all involved.
Playing better than standard requires deviation. This divergence usually results in sub-standard play.

That is pretty much how I felt too when I saw this, but it might be because of my own lack of knowledge. Personally I would have liked it more if Quantic just saved the cash and went for a couple of players that are really high caliber instead, but hopefully people here are right that there is a lot of talent in the former Vile roster and that they now get a real chance to practise a lot and reach their potential.

Whoa, interesting development for Quantic. Hope everyone on Vile can adapt quickly to the changes.

This is really great - I am interested to know more about these Google guys that funded the team. Did they already have a relationship with Quantic, or did they come out of nowhere with an angel investment?

wow was not expecting that. Interesting to see how much Quantic has in terms of revenue and good to see the growth of a team that was possibly not going to be able to keep up with the players. GL to everyone that transitioned
