How should the community react to such a blatant attempt at forcing the show on fans of Starcraft? I say watch it. Tune in even if you don't like the office. If The office is able to boost viewers by including a Starcraft reference, TV execs will take notice, and it will bring us one step closer to viewing matches on TV. Because dissing this even without a reason seems popular, I'll add one. If we want to watch StarCraft stuff, WE WATCH STARCRAFT STUFF. +1 view to some obscure reference that may or may not matter at all long term < +1 view to a livestream of anything with someone playing full games.

LOL if you really think everyone who viewed the GSL finals tuning in would make that big a difference to their ratings.

I doubt they were actually playing the game. They probably just loaded up some video full screen

Sure its pretty cool but it's no different than if someone was dressed up as Master Chief, Spock or Darth Vader.

With that being said, the SC2 reference/backstory with dwight and the kid was cute, put a smile on my face xD. SC2 is going mainstream woo. but I think it may have been a cheap attempt at getting some sc2 viewers or maybe the writer really liked sc2 and just saw it being a part of the episode. Either way, it was kinda cool but also kinda sad to see where The Office is now.

They included it because someone on their staff is a fan. On October 28 2011 11:35 slmw wrote: Did you guys notice anything weird about the game they played? The kids macro is fucking terrible!! ![]() I wonder if Dwight was any better. I see ultralisks. Might have just been very late game and he was banking resources. He's attacking into a gold on metalopolis, so he probably has 4-5 bases. Kids probably better than both of us ![]() Episode overall was decent. Nothing spectacular. The starcraft parts were good. Rest was meh.
