Thanks to the DreamHack crew, fragster had the oppertunity to interview Soo Ho ' DongRaeGu' Park before the tournament start. Fascinated by the beatiful country spain, he does not feel as much pressure as one of the biggest talents from korea.
To the interview
Some impressions:
fragster: Hello DongReaGu, are you confident that you can win the tournament?
Soo Ho 'DongRaeGu' Park: I think I'am going to win. I know my fist map and I am feeling ready. I think I will win.
Will we see an Korean final? And who is your toughest opponent here in this tournament?
DongRaeGu: Maybe the Korean player HerO will be with me in the Final, or maybe HuK.

What is more important to you, the Korean or the foreign tournaments?
DongRaeGu: I like both. The prizes in Korea are bigger, but I like to go to foreign tournements, because the fans are very good there.
Do you feel a lot of pressure, because everyone calls you one of the biggest talents in Korea?
DongRaeGu: It's not much pressure. I like it, because it gives me a lot more self confidence.

Why?!?
He is just saying that he will be travelling less in future? This is not missleading and completly right quoted oO
|
Yeah, wtf @ title.
"DongRaeGu: No, it doesn't affect me so much. But if it affects me in the future I will stop travelling so much."
-__-
|
Yeah, definite mislead with the title quote. But I guess you're getting hits because of it.

He's saying it's not affecting him currently, so he will continue doing what he is doing. And if it affects him in the future, then he will stop traveling so much.
|
Hm okay i see your point.
If an administrator can please change the title.
Maybe to: "The prizes (or prize money) in korea are (is) bigger"
|
Christ, can TL mods PLEASE do something about this guy? He's constantly posting "articles" and "interviews" that have amazingly misleading thread titles and quotes taken out of context in order to drive viewers to his website.
Shit is getting old -_-
|
The title, as mentioned, is really misleading. Not just 'twisting words' from something out of context or translated. The title as presented is blatantly counter-factual.
So, yeah, I regret giving the site a view because of this.

Im suprised he hasnt been warned or banned for doing this...

typical fragster headline tbh
the german translation is not correct though (missing the if), maybe thats the reason
|
Pretty misleading title dude.
|
Yeh, that titles like MC saying "I want to murder MVP in the fourth coming GSL tournament".
Then you saying MC: "I want to murder MVP"
|
Is Fragster a tabloid style publication?
|
Man this is deja vu. Another crappy misleading title from this guy, him arguing in the thread, and then reluctantly changing the title. Maybe just pick titles that don't trick readers in the first place.
|
Mods should really hand out warnings for misleading titles like these.
|
Change the thread title please, it's misleading to say the least.
|
It´s just crazy how some people are flaming if one does some mistakes. I did not do the interview, i just quoted it to Team Liquid. Always when i see that the title is misleading or somebody is telling me so i am changing everything or let an admin do so.
So just stop spamming and think of a better title...

You are kinda funny talking something completly not true at all. We had this case i think about three times, while posting around 150 interviews on Team Liquid. And why do you see the website "gossip-themed"? oO
We are always posting such long teasers on TL that you don´t have to go the website at all if you don´t what do. Just so funny that the community always means to flame without doing anything themselves but always wanting to see everything done perfect by volunteers...

'I like to go to foreign tournements' would be a better title than what you currently have.

Guys, English is clearly not his first language, cut him some slack. It's possible the "sensational" titles are just being translated poorly.

Yeah for sure i can remeber this. But it was the same thing, i did not make the interview and i did not make the headline, i just quoted it for Team Liquid as i normally do always.
If the titles were missleading it is for sure partly my fault, but this is fault that can be done if you do your work fast and about twenty hours a day. I don´t get anything out of clicks on this TL-thread and i don´t really get somehing out of clicks on fragster.de as well.
So just calm done and think about what you are writing. Before heading over to fragster you can just read the interview teaser here and if you think it is not good just don´t head over to fragster. Other sites are always posting just one or two questions and you have to head over...
And may you think of the tone of interviews were everything was all right. Don´t always think of the bad things...

Okay m2e i see that a discussion with you in a normal way does not make any sense. Just stay at your point if you don´t want to discuss with arugments. I think this is the right decision. If you are in GSl you reaally should focus on GSL and training for it. DRG hasnt been in GSL when he started going to foreign events. Now that he is Code S its jsut the right decision to do so.
If you look at HuK or MC you see that they suffer very hard by too much travelling.

the german translation is not correct though (missing the if), maybe thats the reason Everytime a new article goes up this dude always has some out of context title relating to the article to get page views for his gossip-themed website. You are kinda funny talking something completly not true at all. We had this case i think about three times, while posting around 150 interviews on Team Liquid. You keep trying to defend yourself when 3 pages in this thread confirm that your using a misleading thread title to drive views to your website. You've used questionable to completely false quotes in other interview threads you've created. Seriously just stop trying to justify using these thread titles.

Three or Four times it was missleading. So it´s just not fair appointing me to be so bad mannered ALWAYS posting missleading headlines. It was sometimes and it was not my intention to do so...

i am under stress i am doing this coverage 10 hours for now. It can be that i missunderstand a english passage in an interview when i just read over it really fast...

Can we change the thread title? It was a little misleading. In the interview it says DRG will only not travel that much if it affects his play rather than he will stop travelling so much.
|
DRG has a good point. MLG prizes are tiny compared to even GSL events, especially when you consider transcontinental travel.
|
chaaaaaaange the title!!! good interview otherwise
|
i dont think his statement is even based on fact. i believe NA has the most prizes.
|
That new title is even wronger. He didn't say he might stop travelling because of the prices, but because it could influence his play
|
yo, I was so mislead, really happy i read the actual interview .
|
Hmm jsut kinda fail by the admin^^ He did not really change the title the right way^^
|
Title is misleading. Otherwise, good interview.

Yeah i know. I am sorry for that. Waiting for an admin to edit it correctly^^
|
Yeah, misleading title there first.
But great interview. I like DRG!
|
"For the next administrator seeing it: Please change the title to "The prizes in Korea are bigger" "
That title would have been just as misleading. Title is normal now, so I'm happy.
|
So hopefully everything is all right now and we all can enjoy the interview with DRG :>
|
A couple of typos here & there but interesting interview nonetheless

fragster: Hello DongRaeGu, are you confident that you can win the tournament?
Soo Ho 'DongRaeGu' Park: I think I'am going to win. I know my fist map and I am feeling ready. I think I will win.
Will we see an Korean final? And who is your toughest opponent here in this tournament?
DongRaeGu: Maybe the Korean player HerO will be with me in the Final, or maybe HuK.
Did your Progamer-Life changed a lot since MvP and compLexity partnered?
DongRaeGu: Yes, because of compLexity I can go to foreign countries and compete in foreign tournaments, which is very good for me, because I can meet my foreign fans, too.
It's your first time here in Spain. What's your impression of the country?
DongRaeGu: It's a beautiful country and the people are nice.
You've been traveling a lot – to the MLG, then DreamHack and back to Korea. Does this influences your game, because you are not able to practise so much?
DongRaeGu: No, it doesn't affect me so much. But if it affects me in the future I will stop travelling so much.
The new patch is coming soon. How will it change the game? What do you thinkt about this?
I don't know, because I haven't played with it yet. But I think it's going to be a bit harder. Protoss and Terran will be a little bit stronger maybe.
Thank you for the Interview and good luck at the tournament. Kinda boring interview... DRG has a lot more personality than this not reflected in these words

It´s just what was possible at DreamHack Valencia Invitational and an translator. If the koreans would speak proper english and the reporters would have more time at events it would be easier to make better interviews
