![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/YwMM8.png) Today I am pleased to announce the partnership of IGN and Team ReIGN. IGN will not only be providing the support needed to maintain the ReIGN team house, but collaborating with ReIGN to provide quality live and pre-recorded media coverage to the StarCraft community. Much of this content will be shown through the Team ReIGN stream, while other content will be featured as part of IPL TV. IGN will also assist in the creation of the official Team ReIGN website.
We're extremely happy with what IGN has worked on in it's brief time in eSports including IPL1, 2 & 3, IPL TV, and IPL Team Arena. We believe this partnership will help bolster IPL in many of its avenues into eSports.
And before you ask, while we have been in talks with IGN for quite some time, it was just a serendipitous coincidence that KiWiKaKi picked a name for us that contained the letters IGN. We're not actually that clever intentionally.
One of my goals for the IGN Pro League is to help support the eSports community, and bring eSports talent into the spotlight. It is a true pleasure for me to have the opportunity to work with Team ReIGN, who has been extremely successful in both our IPL individual and team tournaments. -David Ting, General Manager of eSports

Gratz to ReIGN, but I just presumed that IGN was in some kind of way sponsoring ReIGN xD. At least they are now >:D
Reign looks so promising.
bitch about zerg, get tv show? nice!
Reign to korean form stronger team
Oh awesome. Reign already has some good players. They should be able to compete with the best given some time and a few more players.
Haha nice! Love the new name with caps IGN :D That's super cool. Goodluck to team ReIGN in the future!
IGN really just sponsors them because of that name, IT WAS PLANNED ALL ALONG! Admit it!
No wonder Reign has been dominating the Team Arena. Must be fixed!
Awesome. Congratulations on your partnership.
Nice! Super excited to see Team Reign in action.
hahaha as if this wasn't already the case! well, cool that it's official :D
This sounds Awesome. Really exicited for what Reign ans ign have in store for us.

Exciting news.
Hope to see good things. And the name was very serendipitous indeed. Continue to make SC2 e-sports amazing! <3
Awesome, Reign is a really good team.
Wait, Reign has a team house? I didn't know that! :o
ReIGN has a lot of potential as a team, nice to see them in this partnership. ^^
I thought this already happened. O.O
Congratulations to IGN and ReIGN, a very strong partnership indeed.
Does Frank being in the management have to do with any of this? - IGN + rgn
This is awesome news! Grats to both ReIGN and IGN! I'm excited to see what sort of content they start releasing ^^
Great news, keep up the hard work guys ! ESPORTS!
i was gonna bring up the clash of interest in their live casts if one player is from reign.
then i was going to make a snide comment about reign never making it to leagues
whatever, good news for those involved.
So basically I should start a team called IGNenous or something like that to get sponsorship :D
Yea I couldn't think of anything as good as reIGN.
Dont they already pay them 500$ per week?
JK sick news for RGN!
Kiwikaki invite to IPL3 incoming!

ReIGN
Mind.Blown
Kiwi y u so smart

So much news lately it is hard to keep up. Just one small step for ESPORTS. Keep it up.
This week has been killer
Reign fighting! ~~!!
Wow big deal, and nice new tag, congratz guys! :D
Hopefully Reign members don't get invite preference to IGN's various tournaments, similar to how 4 or 5 ROOT members were invited into IPL 1 when IGN sponsored ROOT (and had ROOT managers on its payroll)...
Totally didn't see that coming xD
nice nice nice! gogo reign<3

it is true, they are better than some people
we will see the depth of their team when ign puts them up against a good team : )

I am fully in support of this if only for the amazing pun, great work IGN.
Congratulations to ReIGN for their sponsorship and to KiWiKaKi for coming up with a good name for their team!
inception! a name within a name!
I'm very excited to see where this is going!
I have literally no faith in reign until I see some results.
Grats to Reign! sorry, ReIGN.
With a team house, a great sponsor, and great players this team has insane potential.
Gratz reign, big news imo
I feel like ReIGN is truly an up and coming team. They just got a sweet sponsorship by a company that is hosting what I think will be the best tournament that will be hosted in SC2 up to date. Maybe my expectations are too high, but high expectations are formed when someone truly thinks they will succeed. All the best to Team ReIGN, and thank you IGN for supporting e-sports even more! Wonderful news =]
I will always read it as Re-IGN from now on..
You can't spell reign without IGN
This is very positive news I guess i was scepticle about reign's skill at first but they seem to be performing relatively strongly and getting a team house is a good route to success if its used right. I'd hope there isnt any conflict of interests when it comes to selecting invites for the IPL events but im sure this wouldnt be allowed to be the case
Is ReIGN the official way to write it now, or are you just playing around with it?
This is really cool! Always an awesome thing to see more direct sponsorship in SC2.
Congratulations to ReIGN and good luck!
Wow, that name... Is just genius O_O.
I cannot read the word Reign properly now, thanks.
Congrats re-IGN
reIGNception?
Wasn't ign supposedly sponsoring ROOT before they broke up? (i think they provided them with some gaming equipment? unsure thought)
Re-Eye Gee Enn
That's how I read it from now on. Sounds terrible ):
Now I'm reading it like "Reagan" .
ReIGN is looking sick. Kudos to IGN for the support.
Wow this is pretty awesome. Congrats to ReIGN
General Manager of eSports, what a kick ass title.
Nice to see teams who are committing to getting better getting support!
This is awesome. Grats and gl to everyone!
LOL, this is probably the funniest coinsidence ever all thanks to ReIGN
KiWiKaKi is such a boss at picking names. hahahahahahahahaha this is awesome! super excited to see companies investing more into eSports (even if it is a video game related company XD)

I love what IGN have been doing for SC2 I can't think of many places especially a gaming website as big as it so devoted to helping profesional gaming.
never thought vtgaming would've come this far tbh lol
Glad this all comes together. I've loved the IPL/IGN streams so far and RGN are really promising early days, so lets hope the collaboration brings about some fun SC2 stuff
IGN... ReIGN... LOL should've seen it coming, plus the fact that they would be based in San Francisco (location of IGN HQ).
This is awesome, hopefully this will allow kiwi/slush to bring in some bigger results. Also will be nice to see what Artist has to offer in the coming weeks
Awesome news! Good luck to the team.
This is a pretty logical and sensible partnership imo, especially since they're both located in the same area of Northern California.
Gratz to both ReIGN and IGN!

The first time I saw it I thought of it as Colonel. And now I forever think of Cruncher as Colonel Cruncher, which REALLY makes him sound like a brand of cereal, but that's not bad I suppose.
I gotta say this is pretty awesome. It will be nice to able to visit a gaming house near by.
go ign! thanks for supporting an awesome team. also, congratz to Reign, i wanna see slush in disgustingly good shape for next MLG
This is fantastic, grats to both IGN and the team!

I always just say "Cole-Catz"

I call ALL the coL players Colonel. Colonel Cruncher > Captain Crunch. Now with more archon berries and BM.
This is going to be really good. Props to everyone involved
go IGN , thats some great stuff :D :D
Congrats! and lol kiwikaki
Well they did sponsor them quite well with IPL Team Arena
gratz to reign great for there up and coming team
Pretty epic.... I officially wish i was on Team ReIGN
congrats to Reign and ign, wow. looking forward to what this will bring.
thought this already happened, but pretty fuckin sick for Reign.
Awesome how much IGN is investing in sc2.
Reminds me of the OGN and MBC Teams. Congratz all around
I never liked the IPL but now that they're supporting some of my favorite players I'll definitely rethink my evaluation
Wonderful move by IGN it's nice to see them support esports in the US in so many ways.
Lol the pun is cute.
Congratulations to Reign though. eSports :3
Called this ages ago and it was denied by IGN I demand vengeance!
lol I get it.
VERY CLEVER IGN
The most logical partnership / sponsorship yet!
Nice play on the name. Congrates to ReIGN!
Does this mean we have to start calling them Re-I-G-N ? :D
Congrats on the sponsorship!
lol, they should just change their team name to Re, so its like Re+IGN
But what concerns me is if there is going to be a conflict of interest. Can a league also sponsor a team? I mean EG does, but they have a team league, so that matters less. Can the invites of IGN be fair? I really hope so, because IGN is huge and Reign has some really good players. I hope this doesn't sully either team.
So sick, I love big organizations getting team partners. It's a more intimate relationship than many other sponsors. This is more like FXO I think.
Great news! Good job by ReIGN!!
Congratulations on the partnership Reign and seriously hope for the best for your future and keep going forward.
Great news all i can say!

No, a new website is in development.
Helping with the cost of the house seems very cool of IGN. I wonder if they'll get their money's worth out of this.
congrats to both parties, really hope it works out the best for everyone.
Kiwi just wants to play texas hold'em at Caesar's palace
Good news though!
good news... think ReIGN has potential but is definently not a competitor in GSTL or anything of that nature but definently able to grow with strong players like their glorious leader Kiwi <3
Wow...ReIGN really is going to have access to all that Rupert Murdoch money now. Grats to those guys...that's the deal of a lifetime.
I thought IGN was already ReIGN's sponsor. Shows how much I know. Anyway congratulations to both IGN and ReIGN. ReIGN is quickly becoming one of my favorite teams.

It's like as if it was meant to be.

Wow that is quite the sponsor! Congrats to Reign!
Grats to the team, I'm really interested to see where IGN takes this as they have definitely hit a bump with season 2 of the IPL. They seem committed to epsorts, so I can only hop that holds true.
Congratulations to both parties. Seems like a fantastic partnership. Good Luck to ReIGN!
wow reign is beginning to really take shape as a competitive team not just individual players but a TEAM!
The capitalization of the team name of reIGN and the way it includes it's sponsor is totally sick.
Best of luck to both parties!!
This pretty much confirms that Kiwikaki is psychic! Congrats on the partnetship, team Reign has been displaying some pretty impressive performances lately!
Gratz! Hopefully ReIGN is going to start tearing it up! They'll probably get cheat codes for IPL 3 xD.
Huge congrats are in order for ReIGN. I know that some of their players are lesser known, but don't be fooled because they aren't as popular as the others on the team. The entire team is very strong and this relationship with IGN will only make the whole team stronger. :D
More money to ESPORTS, YAY! Next, a coL and coca coLa partnership??
hella pro for reign. hellla pro!
Grats to Reign but IGN should have picked a much better team.
IGN doing so much good for sc2. \\!
Great news for Team Reign to land such a big sponsor, good luck fellas!
Some news that's finally not drama and full of different opinions
This is nothing but good for SC2!
Is team ReIGN rolling out a website anytime soon?
Would have rather seen IGN partner with TL or EG. But, good news still for Reign.
That name is incredibly awesome! Really like what IGN has been doing for SC2 so far
Sounds good, GL HF everyone!
IGN is trying to become the american MBCGame :D... hope they gona have a show where they knock on the progamming house at 6AM and wake everyone up
lol. they get support for team house. could never get it before as ROOT. Seems like the reason why no big sponsors for ROOT materialized because of CatZ and Drewbie.
Eeenteresting
Congrats, I always wondered about the capital IGN in ReIGN
Cool stuff, grats! I always like hearing about partnerships like this.
Haha that was my first question, if that was intentional that would have been clever
awsome grats to reign, i really hope they become another really strong high level team
a big Thank You to IGN for making E-sports even more Awesome!
Congrats on the partnership, I think this is great for both parties and I hope to see team reign more prominently here on out!
"David Ting, General Manager of eSports" what is this selfproclaimed title?
Such a great partnership, like srsly, its IGN!!
On August 18 2011 15:20 Nastiness wrote: "David Ting, General Manager of eSports" what is this selfproclaimed title?
don't worry. he is just the manager of eSports. not ESPORTS. They are completely different.

Grats to Reign, pulling in this awesome sponsor.
Also grats to being yet another foreign team establishing a pro-house to train hard! Foreigners TRAINING!!!!
lol 1st thing i thought was, brilliant bastards, the IGN in the name, beautiful! but seriously, great news, glad to see another team getting some support!
This is awesome! thank you IGN :D
Reign is such a sick team, this is even sicker!
Congratz and good luck with your partnership.
I'm going to go ahead and speculate that it WASN'T a coincidence. Because that's what we do here, after EGs announcement.
Also. IGN sponsored ROOT. Just come out and say it... IGN want to get into KiWiKaKi's pants!
Big congrats, very nice news.
Congratulations to both sides, really solid partnership, I can't wait to see Reign everywhere!
Pretty darn good, i'm glad to hear, also nice name.
Congratulations dood, hope it goes well^.^
NICE!!!
Really happy for Reign! Gogo Kiwi and Slush!
Great news! Kiwi is such a beast.
If I ever start a team, my naming strategy is to include some company in the team name...
AT&Tack or something lol
O my goodness, I was hoping something like this would happen. ReIGN deserves it to. -KIWIKAKI FIGHTING!!!!
Awesome we get to see some content with kiwi in it

Root was sponsored by IGN before this actually. Shortly before they dissolved though.
The IPL has been one of the most consistent and engaging virtual events to crop up in recent months. This seems like a natural partnership, and it sounds like you guys have the community's support!
oooh i see what they did there. lol good to see ign really backing starcraft 2. good news
Now if they somehow get a RGN team house Korea, I would totally nergasm. Anyway, this is awesome, even though I don't quite understand what this will lead to ^^
and the trend of western-sponsored teams continues.... bodes well for the future, at least in the West.
Happy for Reign, this can only help them catch up to EG/Col

-David Ting, General Manager of eSports
..really?
I won't lie, I have been part of the IGN community a lot longer than the TL community, but I am so grateful that IGN has gone headlong into the eSports community. This is the future in the making. Can't wait to see the great things that will come of this for not just ReIGN and IGN, but for us as a gaming eSports community.
fightIGN! (yeah i know, Im lame.)

eSports is a division within the broader company. General Manager is a common job title. He is the General Manager of the eSports division within IGN.

I hope they somehow send ReIGN to korea, I want the players to get super good xD

Congrats to Reign. I'll be looking forward to watching them grow as a team.
