Hi, My name is ATK and I help out with GLHF.TV with some graphics and I make some SC2 fanart as well (actually I don't draw much compare to any other artists...)

I've recently created a community site called www.sketchpad.tv a community where I support different kind of artists with streaming tech and hope to build a general Root to "art stream community". Thank you TL for letting me register a stream here!

I started this project for the fun/gift for castors and pro gamers of SC2 e-sports for all their hard work.

I am only a diamond protoss and don't play many games (50 ladder games total around there) I do enjoy watching GSL for being korean, Day[9]tv, any other E-sports material of any video games (it's the greatest thing ever). However, my knowledge to Starcraft II is lacking compare to most people. Therefore I request help to the Team Liquid community to help me out on various starcraft 2 knowledge.

I will start explaining the game now.

MoecraftII [The Card Game] is just an alpha name..
I want to draw cute versions all the tier 1 units of starcraft2 and use them in the cards
[hence where i got the name MoecraftII]

Here's an example of what units might look like (Drawing I made for Kingston HyperX):

Basically there are 54 cards
2 players each draw 10 cards
within these 10 cards players use 5 to "create" an army

So the game might be heavily luck based/skill based.

Current Card composition I am thinking of is :

5 x Zealots 5 x Stalker 5 x Sentries
5 x Marines 5 x Mauraders 5 x Reapers
5 x Zerglings(x2) 5 x Roaches 5 x Banelings

45 Unit cards

Guardian Shield , Charge , Blink
Stimpack , Concussive Shells , Jetpack (speed) , Baneling speed , Kite[Micro]

9 Upgrade / Special cards

total 54 cards

So you can build from 5 x Zealots to 2 x Mauraders + Stim + Concussive + Kite

I've tested some Unit vs Unit compositions at my stream
(feedback would've been great..)
but this seems highly opinionated and I didn't want to decide on set rules. Also it's way too hard for me to see if these set of cards will make the game too confusing.

It is inevitable to erase all form of arguments that has been created during the game, but want to erase as much as possible.

For example lets say TheGunrun vs Day[9] plays a round..
Gunrun puts 3 Mauraders + Kite + stim
Day[9] puts 4 Zealots + 1 Maurader
who's going to win?
(I don't know my micro is too bad..) -
How good the kiting should be? [automaton2000 *cough]

Pure Unit composition is pretty easy, by testing 10~20 times :
Zealots
Mauraders
Stalkers
Roach
Reapers
Zerglings
Banelings
Sentries
Marines

Were the ranks Top = strongest

However, when i started to add special cards into play, I just couldn't organize the game.

I am hoping for some feedback about this game, if it's going to be interesting or not..
[I talked to Gunrun about it and he said it's pretty interesting for a Drinking game]
possibly lol..

I would use it for drinking games yeah..

I would request some help in TeamLiquid..
Discussion on composition vs composition
Any special Rules or add cards to make the game more interesting
Any Design ideas
Game rules
Anything interesting.

I would be streaming my card drawing process as much as I can,
but ultimately, I want to constantly discuss the balance issues of this game
"how would this game be more skill oriented?"
for sure max card number has to be 54..

there were some ideas where I should put more special cards than unit cards to make it even rarer to grab units of the same kind...

Yeah these balance is just way out of my line [makes my head explode]

so I would love some feedbacks!

Sounds a lot like Cardcraft or whatever the name was from Warcraft III where you built your own deck and faced off vs other players that made their own decks and obtained better cards as you leveled up by winning and such.

Draw first, figure out the game later. ( I just wanna see cutey units :3 )
Also, if you make a unit cards cost food like in real SCII game instead of a card slot, the game would make more sense and easier to balance. ie. A marine should not have the same cost as a stalker. Some skill would be hard to balance as well, such as guardian shield and stim. It's just impossible to crunch the number or do test for every composition with those skills. I never play card game seriously, so I don't know what else to suggest

I like the idea. I am a huge board/card game nut. I was actually thinking of doing something similar myself. Go for it!

Plus that your characters look soooo awesome!

Watching the stream right now, very relaxing. ^-^

I think the link to sketchpad.tv in the first spoiner shouldn't include the ",", at least for me says the site doesn't exist if I don't delete it manually.
