It seems that yet another team had to bite the dust this time it's RAGE
Statement by Starcraft 2 Manager Jay ’’Nails’’ De Jong:
Personally, this is a very sad day for me. RG-Esports has been a wonderfull experience to be a part of, and I had a really good time coaching the teams and making a lot of new friends during that period of time. It saddens me that the Starcraft 2 squad for RG is being dropped from the clan, as I invested a lot of time in it, trying to make it as it is now, but also in the organisation itself. I helped out wherever I could, and even gained experience with marketing, website management and newswriting. I had a lot of fun managing Starcraft 2, and I'd like to take the time to thank my players aswell as the managers for the great experience. I'd like to go on in the Starcraft 2 scene, as this is what I love to do. For that matter, I hope to find a new and thriving Multigaming clan which I can serve under and lead it's Starcraft 2 players towards succes. (jay.nails@rg-esports.com) Statement by CEO’s Matthijs ‘’mgroen’’ Groen/ Tim ‘’iNfY’’ Huizing:
Dear friends and fans, Hereby, we bring you the news that we have decided to drop the entire Starcraft 2 division of RG-Esports with immediate effect. It has been a bumpy ride with some ups and downs. It’s one of the reasons that we have decided to drop the SC2 division. We want to thank all the players from both the academy and the professional team, they made a great effort for the organization and we want to wish them the best of luck in finding a new SC2 home. Not but not least, we want to thank the SC2-Manager Jay and the SC2-Editor in Chief Rienk for all their time and effort. Jay built the SC2 divisions and managed to do an excellent job for RG-Esports in managing the team.
These are the players who are now teamless:
Fury Cytoplasm Matiz Utopi Ready

Hmmm I assume RAGE was an EU team? The only reference I remember to RAGE is from desrow to be honest (man hes good at marketing himself ). I think its a different Rage? The only team I really only recognize here is Matiz though.
Well thats always too bad good luck to all the players hope they can find a new home on a solid SC2 team :D
|
Even though i dont really know who Rage was, (i have heard of RGFury), its always sad to see teams disband . best of luck to the teamless players.
|
theres a russian "rage" as well, no?
|
I assume that Desrow is on the other RAGE esports team? Anyway, sad to see a team leave the scene
|
i thought desrow was on this team?
|
desrow got destroyed by one of their members if i remember correctly.

Sad news that our purple prince is now without a home :-(
EDIT: I am of course talking about Cytoplasm for those who are unaware
|
so there are(was) 2 or 3 teams with RAGE as their name o.o?
|
Ah this might explain why Fury hasn't been streaming much over the past week or so, I kept waiting for that e-mail on my iPhone @ work that he had come online but nothing. Sad to see another team go, best of luck to all finding a new one especially Fury who is not only a WC3 great but has one of the most informational/useful SC2 streams available (for Terran players) because he commentates in real-time .
|
Fury's stream was/is very top notch, as mentioned above... commentary on strats and builds.
If I recall correctly, he was in 4 kings for WC3. Maybe with their recent SC2 team announcement, he can get back with them.
Speculation aside... best of luck to these guys in finding a quality and stable team.

Its pretty obvious that is going to start to happen more often. So many people making new leagues, and all the bad ones are going to die out.
|
with fury and cytoplasm getting quite good lately, this definitely is sad news.
|
I hope this frees up valuable resources for their TrackMania team..

That's not the way you get taken seriously...
Anyway this sucks. I hope Fury/Cyto get picked up soon. Fury is really good and Cyto is hilarious on ladder

|
Sucks to see any team disbanded, gl finding new teams!
|
This seems to be the week of disbands / let go's and leaving
|
I'm sorry to hear that, but I've never heard of this team or its players before.

yes.

It seems that the existence and state of every SC2 team is being challenged.
|
Nuuu, I really enjoy Cytoplasm's play : <
|
...and nobody even noticed...
+ Show Spoiler +Have any of these players even entered any major offline events?

Edit: My guess is that they get picked up by SK!

Didn't know too much about the players, but sad to say that another team bites the dust. gl to all the players~

lol so professional...
btw this is team RG not rage im still with rage :D

There's too many small teams with no real sponsors, they obviously can't compete with the big names.
|
Never heard of the team nor the players before, but I'm not watching the EU scene very closely. Surely sad for them, but if they are good I'm also sure there's enough teams out there who's managers are very eager to get them under contract.
It might be the time where all the "I have money so I build a team as a hobby"-teams disband - like Lazarus Gaming iirc - or sponsors move on to more lucrative teams.
[edit] People should keep in mind that, even if "we" love (or hate, or hate to love, or love to hate) this game, it's just business for sponsors. [/edit]
|
Sucks :/.
What team did Welmu join if he wasn't on RAGE during the disband?
|
Sad news. I really think that Cytoplasm soon will find a new team tho.
|
Sad news, however FuRy and cyto should have no problem finding a team, FuRy's stream is awesome, great commentary and quality and he can and will be a great player with a good team and some more practise!
P.S Fury if you read this, start streaming again bro, i miss it!

I've never heard of the team or any of the players but Still sad though. Good luck to you all!

While this is terrible news for e-Sports this is definitely GREAT news for Fury
|
Fury/Cyto will have 0 trouble finding a new team for sure
SK Gaming would be great for them if they're looking to expand their SC2 roster, SK is an awesome organisation.

SK is certainly one of the best known organizations but they have received alot of flak lately. The Swedish counter-strike team with Heaton, Potti etc that basically made the organization famous have said in interviews that SK didn´t pay them money they were promised etc.
I know a guy that played in their WOW PVE clan and they weren´t satisfied in SK so they left and formed Ensidia.
Hopefully SK can get their stuff together and start treating their players better because they certainly are one of the most recognized organizations.
