Interested in knowing why FXO would sponsor an e-sports team. Did it really seems like a legitimate use of advertising money or is it more a pet project / interest of management (maybe someone likes games?).

Easy answer. We love games and love SCII. Just like FXOpen's Drift racing sponsorships, it is part business and part fun because we like those things. E-Sports is an industry with huge potential so it's not just money wasted. Brand awareness for FXOpen aside, esports can stand on it's own as a money making venture and what better way to make money than by doing what you enjoy.

I really want to know the business model of how an esports team makes money by themselves.

sorry for the contentless post, but this isn't something that makes sense to me either, and i would like to know.

is it similiar to the way microsoft planned to lose money when they first released the 360?

I have no idea why anyone would put a gaming house in Malaysia? Which tournaments are they going to be playing in?
forgottendreams: One underage girl, two drunk guys, one gogo dancer and starcraft 2. Apparently just another day in Europe.

Sponsors, prize winnings, streaming, giving lessons. Pretty simple.

lol FXOboss is such a badass mofo!

From what i understand they will stay in SK to practice and improve and later they will move to malasya because, FXO will have a big tournament there will all the pro foreigners plus koreans!

It's gonna be a type of homestory cup but with a big pool and tropical wheater.. i wish girl teams existed.. :d

It states in the OP that they won't be there until late July/August, which was always the plan. The stay in Korea is temporary for the upcoming GSTL.

After waking up FXO team members are given their breakfast in bed by scantily clad french maids. After breakfast, depending on their preferences, team members will take a jog around the grounds to exercise and say hello to the private security force guarding them or go for a swim in there 12 metre pool. Then they practice SC2 for the rest of the day, before taking their dinner on the patio surrounded by exotic dancers and live music. FXO team members then go down to their secret underground complex and suit up to fight crime.

Really nice set up. What kind of computers are you planning on getting? I can only imagine what the set up is going to look like. You planning to do a big gaming room or computers in each of the player's room? Actually I got the feeling your going to do both. Really nice location though. I live in Great Falls Virginia 15 minutes away from Pennsylvania Avenue (white house for the uninformed) and that is a nice house even by my standards. I know the crime has to be better there too most people don't realize you can hit the capitol then grab a hooker and some cocaine the next block over just to have it all taken at gun point right when you make it to the next block.

Disregard the haters. Everyone needs something to do I suppose.

I hope my flooring business is 1/20 as successful as your business one day. On that note ever think about some bamboo and tile floors? LOL. Good luck guys and enjoy.

So was everyone else, including the team members. FXO will not be playing SC2 anymore.

I read only some random pages of the rather long thread, so I maybe nmissed the answer, but I kinda still don't get the Malayisa thing. FXO's lineup is mostly western players, isn't it? I, as a middle European, would probably just die after a month in Malaysia - that's not bashing on anyone, but a statement of the the climate. Many of us are just not built that way to survive in tropical areas. Are you really sure, that the climate will not have adverse effects on your players?
