Oh man, on the side panel I thought it said "How to use special tac.." we all know the rest. A lot of those characters I see on euro streams and such and think it is just a regional thing. As far as I know you can only use alpha on NA server

Are you referring to this heart? Was it really patched out? Highly possible cause in a VOD of HDStarcraft I saw a swastika someone messaged him.

Appears to be the case, on my US account I can't use any of the Latin B stuff. But it works fine on EU.

Yes and no obviously. A lot of strange symbols are working. I can use hearts in the chat but there seems to be no way I can get that fucking µ in my character name.

This is so lame. I don't understand why blizzard patched all the symbols are whatnot. I expected that they would at least let you use the fucking underscore. Pretty much every other game or site withscreen name creation.

Blizzard is ust making people unhappy. There's so reason for blizzard to block symbols besides it being harder to find inappropriate names...

Having a tag with either a period, underscore or brackets is so much cooler.

Daynine vs day9 vs dayopenbracket9closebracket.

By.fantasy vs byfantasy etc....meh

Last posting for me...just to tell you guys the current state of my problem.

Got in contact with Blizzard support. Some pretty cool guys who basically gave me the same advices I have already tried BUT they also didn't tell me that is forbidden to use these symbols. I even sent them the links to the profiles with µ I had found and asked if Blizzard has possibly blocked some symbols afterwards. They told me that they know nothing about any blocking but it could be possible since they don't get all information from the tech team and promised they would check if there were some block. Pretty good support.

Next day some girl mailed me with trash talk that they saw I had already changed my name and the problem was obsolte or something. I told them that I haven't picked a new name yet so the problem isn't obsolete.
So final answer was that they checked it and came to the conclusion that it isn't possible. No answer to my question how the other players made it. I really don't want to waste anymore time with that problem and will now pick a name without it.

Thank you guys for your help and if there is some tremendous change or something I'm going to post it here.

Got another eMail. The support says that there actually was an afterward "fix" for this "problem". So µ and all the other symbols which are not working are intentionally blocked......:-(
