I guess the reason behind this is to make it "fair" for everyone, but that could be achieved by other means: - use the order: A, E, I, D, H, C, G, B, F, (A) this way always three different maps are played in consecutive weeks. - use different map groups to avoid having an intersection of 2. This can be achieved not using consecutive map rotation, like: (1,2,4), (2,3, 5), (3, 4, 6), ..., (8, 9, 2), (9, 1, 3). Finally you could try to make the maps even for each week. So far Xel naga caverns and Shattered temple are not played at all on the first week. Typhon peaks is only played as a third map, and Crevasse as second and third map. Blackwater , metalopolis and Taldarim are played first second and third, Crossfire as first and second and terminus as first only. I know that this cannot be balanced completely, but there are 15 position for 9 maps, so it is possible to avoid having one map 3 times. When I watched SotG this week, and they talked about the massive amount of games that will be played, and the inability to watch all of them, I was thinking about the following: At some point you need to cut down the time of the games (not only the downtime between games) and make a summary of all the games played on one day (highlights). I really liked what they had as intro in the sc Reddit invitational. | ||
