MLG has released the full broadcast schedule for MLG Dallas next week. It should come as no surprise that djWHEAT, JP and Day9 will cast the matches. Friday's matches are only Championships Pool, Saturday is Open + Championship bracket and Sunday the final rounds and Grand Finals.
Like previous MLG's, there will be a free stream and an HD stream. Not sure if you are required to use Octoshape or not. Haven't been able to find anything regarding that but, I assume it'll be used till someone proves me wrong.
I'm looking forward to djWheat and Day[9] to cast; however, I, absolutely, don't look forward to hearing JP cast. I'm hoping JP has his breathing and moaning under control because I'm not looking forward to listening to someone making awkward noises / sounds / heavy breathing when the moments get intense, some trickery is happening or something cool is going on.
Can't wait for MLG this year, so many good tournaments.
It's in Dallas, so I'm guessing CDT – Central Daylight Time

I know you said open bracket is strictly saturday and sunday.. but why does it start on round 5?

That is a very demanding schedule....potential for playing from before 5 PM(warm up play) till past midnight.
That's asking a lot from the players. Wish they could spread it out over another day or so, just so players are at the top of their game, for EVERY game.

Actually I think octoshape will only be used for HQ stream from what I gathered. Low quality will not need octoshape.
will they do a rerun of the stream after its over? I work friday/saturday during the streams and dont wanna have to wait for the VODs I remember they used to have the stream looped after its over so you could catch it afterwards, but I think last MLG they didn't do that
This weekend is going to be awesome! I can't wait!

Actually, I remember they did restream the last MLG. The championship match at least.
And there is no way to watch games... I mean, matches, I mean pools, that were casted without being there live, I mean, live plus or minus one hour since that's when you are allowed to rewind, thus not watching it live?
Hey is there a way to watch this without buying the hd pass? im not able to but it right now having some bank issues. any1 got a link if u can watch it non hq?
Is anybody else having issues viewing majorleaguegaming.com? All of the links are resulting in a 500 internal server error for me. *edit* apparently I'm an echo

Seeing as i cant see the schedule on mlg's site, ill ask here - is there one posted on TL somewhere that i missed? Would like to know what time i should be here to watch my favorite players

Look at the first side and first post of the thread.
This season of MLG is sure to be better than last -- even though last was pretty good. There have been so many changes to the game as far as balances, new maps, and, most of all, strategy. Couple that with the fact that many more good players have surfaced and are testing their mettle. Only a couple more minutes!!

They said the free stream will not, but the HQ paid one will.
MLG Major League Gaming Tournament play and the live stream is being held right now until issues are fixed so that you will not miss any matches. #MLGDallas
Well the site came up, and we have the infinite ring of waiting. BUT its progress! HAHA soon my friends, soon. Not surprised MLG stream had issues though.
The most impressive thing about it is the varied amount of error message pages that pop up instead of the stream...500 internal..."this page is not available"..the test screen..the normal "stream coming soon page" (the one that is theoretically "working")..
How can a tournament this big not test their shit properly before the start? I mean really, whatever testing they did do (im sure they must have done some) just can't have been near enough.

6:05 To whet your appetite for the competition, we've got some exclusive insider info from Idra... 6:04 Sorry for the delays, everyone- it's the first Event of the year and we needed to be sure everything would be working perfectly so you wouldn't miss anything. Competition will begin at 6:30pm Central Time. 6:01 The stream will be going live at 6:30pm CT.

I understand that there are a lot of people trying to access the same site at the same time but they should have taken us sc2 nerds seriously there is a lot more then they originally planned.
Capacity planning is hard and very unpredictable. Karots when you start your own world wide broadcasting for hundreds of thousands (and maybe more) viewers we will be sure to be right here supporting you if you have technical difficulties.

Yeah true that, kinda hard to simulate that many simultaneous connections at once.
Anyone know how to get the hq stream window to resize out of lq or get pop out video to work? I can't seem to use the hq stream at all because I only see a portion of the screen.

Things like this really go to show the amount of planning and work that goes into making something like GSL and TSL run smoothly - really want to applaud those guys for busting their asses and delivering.

Indeed, though I imagine streaming something like this is a few orders of magnitude more difficult than the TSL.
They seem to have streaming problems much. Can someone explain why its so difficult to run it smoothly? My guess is as backup all you have to do is have 10 mirrors for justin.tv or ustream etc..

Imo you cant compare TSL (replays-only/recorded-before) and GSL (using the same studio for several seasons) to a live event at a "random" location.
I doubt its an April fools joke. A lot of people are looking forward to this event and it would be terrible to play with their audience. There is money and sponsorship on the line, and profesionalism as well. I would be turned off if i found out it was, and never watch MLG again. Anyway, heres hoping its just some problems and will be up shortly.
i suppose that's what happens when people think they can do as well as companies that specialises in live streaming (justintv, ustream, etc.)... it would all run so much smoother if they just used the technology that's available to them!!
I'm kind of thankful for the delay to be honest, as much as it sucks that a lot of us rushed home for MLG. Gave me a chance to get dinner / shower and run to the beer store ^_^ cheers. Really excited to see some more EU pro's duke it out with NA gosu's.
Glad its not me in Dallas on the Tech team working on this at the moment, guys must be busting their balls trying to get this going, on top of knowing people are frustrated
On April 02 2011 09:01 Marth753 wrote: Try disabling adblock if you're having problems in FF; fixed the stream for me.
This also fixed it for me. I had a black screen with a flashy infinity symbol and right after disabling firefox and refreshing the stream came up. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem
Yeah I just got the commercial and missed the whole end of the game...so disappointing I hope they aren't running a delay and we get a commercial a minute before the end of each game...
Trying to spend $10 to buy the HQ stream. The account creation system on the mgl website takes forever. Now that I've gone through it my account still apparently doesn't exist. Wow. These guys are making it pretty hard for me to buy their product.
The first series went pretty smooth no hiccups stream wise for me but ever since that one ended the stream has been constantly freezing for like a minute at a time every like 2-3 minutes. Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?

Same for me, and no I get an error when trying to go to the page. UGHHHHHH lol, hope its back up soon...

anyone able to get on the stream?? Im all for pro gaming these days but if they cant get this stuff right no ones ever going to take it seriously. Is the stream dropping for the HD viewers as well?
This service requires that you accept the End User License Agreement. asdfij asdofj asodfj oiajdf
What does that mean?
I was getting this error, and it seemed that my Windows host files were blocking the stream, due to a modification I made to it in order to block ads. To deal with this, I deleted this file, "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts", and it is currently working fine.

Yeah this is pretty bad when MLG tells people to tune in and watch then we can't even do that. I am afraid to spend the 10 bucks because I may not even get to see anything.
This is exactly why I'll NEVER pay for HQ stream from MLG. Thank god GSL has their act together and NASL is partnered with Justin.tv. Guess it's just more of the same from MLG, under prepared and still underestimating SC2 community.
Might as well go play ladder instead of wasting your time waiting for these guys.... MLG is just a traveling clown show it seems.
TSL had over 50k viewers tuned in live and didnt have any problem... I highly doubt there's as many people atm.
why are they so stupid???? seriously it's their frickin JOB to realize that they should use a proper streaming service such as justintv or ustream! are they retarded or what? way to not make us want to buy their shit.
At the rate they're going they better make the HD stream and VODs free, cuz this is pretty awful. Pay for a service to see the stuff i want and i can't even watch them at all..

I wouldn't count on it. MLG's streams have always been ass. But this is why I've never given them money, and I feel for you if you paid.
Still just a black screen for me. Adblock off and now it's just black without the infinity symbol. Yay MLG. Sorry for you guys who paid ten bucks for the same black screen I get to see for free.
I feel sorry for guys like DjWheat and Day9 who invest so much time and effort into growing the SC2 community and then stuff like this just destroys all the hard work that has gone into building up this event.
I just realized. I was lagged out of the entire first event, came back during the announcements and at the end of idrA's interview, but then right when the next match was about to start, lagged out again.
Go to MLG's customer support page and submit a ticket to the MLG Live stream part. I ripped into them and all of you should too.
Congrats MLG for stealing money. Make ur standard stream pretty unwatchable so ppl have buy the HQ version, then have the shitiest web servers around. G frigin G!!
On April 02 2011 10:05 Rice_Ball wrote: Hey, at least it's a black screen in crystal-clear quality!
I was thinking that as well. It's really, really black. Proper 0x000000 stuff. I've been trying to liven it up by drinking wine and assuming said blackness is, in fact, laden with ninjas, but it just isn't working.
What is even happening I just get ads that play over and over than the screen goes black until i'm assuming it refreshes in which more ads play until it goes black again. grr.

Yea funny how the ads don't have a problem playing!!
We should all write thank you letters to GOM for their incredible product they give us after we get finished with out complaint letters to the MLG after this nonsense..
Edit: Is the MLG getting paid for every commercial that is run from all of our refreshing??
And didn't something similar happen last season @ MLG with the streaming?

1.) Make a tournament run it for 3 years offer great service. 2.) Run commercials during event and make more profit also offer 10 dollar season tickets. 3.) Get notable casters/commentators. 4.) Have servers fail and loop commercials for unlimited profit potential!
I'll be selling a book for $10 on how to get rich quick if anyone wants =B
MLG if you and I were next to a fire I would push you in it. I would also like to go on the record of saying that the Dr. Pepper commercial that pops up every time I refresh is retarded that the women is not really hot imo...so suck my ass MLG...and Dr. Pepper too...
that pretty much sums up the schedule for tonight at least. I really hope they'll be offering refunds to everyone staring at blank screens that say 'stream not available' at the very least.
