Yoan 'ToD' Merlo recently returned to the RTS-scene. He moved back from China to France roughly a month ago and finally bought the Game. Grinding the European ladder, he already reached 3K points within a few weeks. In the interview with readmore.de he talks about his stay in China, his motivation and future plans. Today he will be participating in the SK-Gaming Champions Trophy tournament.

Great that he returns, although now I have mixed feelings: I was one of the most diehard anti-fans in wc3 because he played human and he always defeated my favourite orc-players

Awesome interview! As I've mentioned before Tod has long been one of my favourite European RTS players (Mainly because of his "beh, I dont care"-attitude which is awesome :D)
Its really inspiring to see him back in the RTS world for REAL.

It would be great to have another top protoss player so I hope he keeps it up but I remember he got quickly disillusioned when he tried a recent WC3 comeback.

grubby and tod never really had that relationship u guys are trying to describe and they are both very independent players that don't really need/want to rely on anyone
and grubby is going to switch over to sc2 in 2011 most likely, he'd be the first top player to switch over IMO.
check demuslim and lucifron are equviliants to mvp's and july's imo they were top players but werent THE TOP when they made the switch

Yea in Grubbys blog he joked about 6 pooling people on the ladder so I wouldnt be surprised if he switched next year after the last big WC3 tournament.
ToD is friends with Rotterdam , I have seen a 2 v 2 with them playing and getting cheesed.
Lucifron was a lot better than Demuslim though I would put him up there but in SC2 the reverse has been the case with these two so I wouldnt assume the best WC3 players will be the best SC2 players.
Now the one player I would love to switch is TeD and if he went Protoss :D.

sorry guys, had to create this thread a little bit in a hurry, gf was calling (finally had to pay some attention to her after i edited the interview friday night). so i accidently confused the order and stated the he did move from france to china. obvioulsy this isn't correct. he returned to france a month ago, like he said in the interview.

Definitely one of my favourite WC3 players from the old days. Quite glad he's finally playing SC2. My guess would be he would join SK and will be sponsored to qualify in the future GSL qualifiers.
Now if only the legend, "SK.Heman", would turn pro SC2 player, that would be sweet. Although from the looks of it, that may never happen.

He is saying that your response to his post was disproportionate, which it was. You responded very...Enthusiastically...To a post that was basically joking. No one is going to try to say Moon isn't an extremely talented player who could make a big dent in the scene when he fully switched. Funnily enough was the first profile I tried to e-stalk when trying to check if anybody converted from wc3 > sc2. Would love to see him dominate SC2.
