As I was reading the song list on the GomTV forums, I noticed at the bottom, they have an e-mail and say that they are open to suggestions. I smile like a fool when I hear a song I like being played in the GSL, so I decided to give it a shot...
If you guys ever heard of Valencia they have some pretty nice music. I've heard them in commercials before Safe to Say - Valencia and Free - Valencia
Jeez, I never expected such a detailed, personalized response. I was expecting an automated Thank you for your consideration, but this pretty much blew my mind and my opinion of Gom just got a major boost.
Has anyone else tried to suggest songs before, or are you guys going to try suggesting some songs now?
Well this is to be expected. GOM really does read it's feedback it gets and listens to it most of the times if not all times. Although their own ideas does bring lots of questions sometimes but they always try to listen to feedback and improve by the public opinion. I'm not surprised they would respond in person to your feedback.
I don't know how that audio director is like but if he's anything like Junkka then they might even troll Tastosis and do that Artosis mix and Tasteless song
My taste isn't that great in music so I can't really suggest any music since I listen to almost every song lol.
This is cool how personal they got with the response reminds me of Pokerstars support which hands down is the best support for any company in the world.
I think GOM has done a pretty good job with the music. I wouldn't listen to most of it for real, however for little intro songs, they do a good job.
I will criticize is that in the round of 64 and some of the 32 GSL3, they had this rap song start playing when they showed the players. Now i'm not trying to be genre biased, but with the rap + Tasteosis talking, it was very hard to isolate what they were saying in to something comprehend-able. ( i feel that they may have figured this out tho)
Also i really dislike the song they do when they close for the day, it seems like for GSL3 its been this country song.
Edit: Yeah its also really cool that GOM is very nice will to take things into consideration to please the audience.
Just wondering, don't they have to get permission to play these songs especially because they're being used for a service that charges people to watch?
Anyway, I think it's awesome how you got such a personalized response. GOM has always had great support though.

Wwwow. That's really cool. Normally with that sort of thing they either don't give you a way at all, or it's automated and you either get nothing or the system spits out a "Thank you for your interest" reply.
I actually love quite a bit of the music GOM has been picking. I've added quite a few of them to my own playlists. Some of it is questionable but I'm also sure I'm (we're) not their average viewership. It's great that GOM shows that kind of interest. That was a very encouraging reply!
haha eye in the sky brings me back to when I was young and watched the bulls in the NBA finals. There's no doubt that song gets you pumped up. Would be pretty awesome. 'Aaaaannnd now, your two finalists!'
I just got the Burn Halo album today, and when I heard the chorus for their track "Our House" I INSTANTLY thought of GSL. Give it a listen and you might too :D
today, for the rain vs mc matches, they played... back street boys, or at least a cover of one of their songs. that was the first time where I faced-palmed due to a vod's/stream's bad choice in music.. ='[
You cant beat queen, by far the best of them all. In addition to that statement, the progamers should have themes like wrestlers. It would boost the characterization big time.
I totally love the gomtv music they play. Almost every time i watch i hear a song and im like OMG what is that song? me want! i think im gonna send the audio director an encouraging letter :p
