I will try to help: HBsAg = HB "surface" antigen HBcAg = HB "core" antigen The fact that HBsAg is present means the patient has Hepatitis B virus antigens in their serum. The anti-HBc IgG just means that the body has made antibodies to the "core" antigen of the virus, and the presence of IgG means the infection is chronic. (the body produces IgM antibodies first, then follows up with IgG antibodies at a later infection stage) The presence of HBeAg would mean the patient is highly infective (contagious). Also, the data does not indicate the patient is HAV immune, since they have negative antibodies [anti-HAV IgM and IgG]. | ||
