I did PM Hot_Bid asking for a rules clarification before I submitted (or attempted) my entry but didn't get anything. To be fair his PM inbox is probably flooded, but regardless it's disappointing. Still, I had fun with my attempt even if it's not exactly what was meant (I probably could have managed to kill all six SCVs on bloodbath in time, since apparently I had more leeway than I thought, but I didn't so I'm not going to argue I deserve it based on that, and it would have taken me more attempts) by the challenge, and much thanks to the TL staff for running this in the first place. Considering that neither I nor (apparently) anyone else thought of using absurd maps until a couple hours after the challenge started it's not surprising if no one on the staff thought about it beforehand. Also, probes are imba. | ||

Also, probes are imba. Yeah I agree it was pretty ambiguous. But it was fun actually making an optimized build to trap his scvs asap. I've actually failed a few times because the scvs glitched themselves through the pylon. Oh well it was fun. | ||

I'm trying to figure out how to get it off of this camera right now, it's a camera I borrowed but it's too late right now to ask the owners how to use it :/. I figured since it's hard drive based I'd be able to pull the file directly off of it, but damned if I know how to make it into a usable file type. <commencing googling> | ||

Also, probes are imba. Yeah, obviously every replay fit into the rules description, even the cheating ones for #14. But I hoped after a while that people would realize you should do it properly - as I interpreted the challenge thread it was about micro and not about glitching the scvs. And when nobody did it (except Nony) it feels a bit awkward going back and rewarding the first guy who made the SCV block thing. Don't worry, I'm sure Nony will give it to someone in need! | ||

Well, if bloodbath is legal, then why not another map with the mains closer? Mine is legit except for the distance between mains and I think at least one other person did it with the same idea. If it has to be on a Blizzard map or an ICCUP map, that should be stated imo (technically Destination obs is an ICCUP map, but if it's stated it has to be an ICCUP map there's a definite "spirit of the rules" violation playing on an obs version with 2 people in melee mode). Like I said I understand if the staff didn't think of it, but it's still disappointing. (Again, I'm not bashing the staff for holding this contest; it's great and I had fun and I'm looking forward to the rest of the key giveaways however they're done. It's just one oversight that I'd like to see improved so the rest of the key giveaways are even better and no one feels cheated). | ||
