What did I contribute or achieve? Admittedly, not much. I was mentioned once in a liquibet wrap-up news because I was placed 4th for MSL events  . I'm quite good at playing Fantasy Proleague: I have an 18th, 24th and 69th place finish to my record, currently I'm 53rd. I've also been among the top 5 traders three times already. Other than that, I post as helpfully as my knowledge of Starcraft allows. I've gone over 2 years and 1658 posts without a warning or ban, if that counts for anything.If I get a key, I plan on sharing it with my two best friends. All three of us are D-/D/D+ rank noobs, but we've enjoyed countless evenings of ICCup, beer and VODs and genuinely enjoy Starcraft. Giving me a key would do three nice dudes a favor. If I don't get one, you know what I'm gonna play? Smash Brothers on an N64 emulator. Against the computer.  Gimme gimme!!! | ||

I also think my story, that shed some light on the unsung hero of starcraft, warrants me one. + Show Spoiler + Let me tell you a story about the real hero of StarCraft. Joe. When Joe was just a little boy, he didnt really have any dreams about what he wanted to be when he grew up. Sure, there was the standard fireman and superhero phases, but nothing that stuck. He sailed through his early education as a solid C student not worrying about a thing. But after he was done with high school, and he had to start making big decisions, he realised something: he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. None at all. Some of his friends went on to university, some got menial jobs and some went off to the army. Then he started thinking: "what can I do to help out the most?". He thought about this for several months while staying with friends. One day when he was walking to the local grocerystore, he walked past a poster that caught his eye. Defending the planet has to be the most exciting and glorius job there is! His brother Jim had already become a Confederate Marshal at this point, and had told him stories of the missions he had been on. I'd like to sign up for the UED. - Hey there son, thats great. What position did you have in mind? - Well, I'm not the brightest kid, I know that. But I would really like to help out with something important. - Okay, let me see what we got... Joe's head was racing with thought. Could it be a medic? A tank operator? Maybe just a regular soldier? Or a vulture driver like his brother Jim started out with? - Well Joe, we do have an assignment that is of the outmost importance availible. - What is it? - You will be operating heavy machinery, and it requires your full concentration throughout the entire mission. - Ok. Sounds good. - Now I don't want you to take this lightly, son. This is a critical mission and you will need to work very long hours. - Whatever it takes, sir. I'm your man! I'm your man. Those words echo everyday in Joe's head. I'm your man. When Joe strapped in on the first day of his mission, he had no idea how long he would be there. For the first few years he was optimistic and really felt that he was doing a good deed. But after five whole years of sitting in that thing, he was exhausted. The only thing that kept him going was news of potential renegotiations of the war. He hoped this could mean reassignment. Something, ANYTHING, other than this. But when the new war terms finally came through, after 12 whole years, the orders for Joe were still the same. Sure the seat is slightly more comfortable, and the aiming equipment is upgraded, but it's still the same job. Going round and round and round. Endlessly. But Joe never loses his concentration. He never slacks off. He's a working class hero in the shadow of his brother. If anything, they deserve it as a thanks for using up their time/bandwidth/computer to stream for us as best as they can. I think a lot of people come here to watch the live proleague matches, so these three I think are responsible for a sizable portion of the members at TL, especially the newer viewers who have just gotten back into starcraft in the past few years (like myself). And as an honorable mention, abascus is always there translating the commentary too which is really enjoyable, so I nominate him as well if he doesn't already have a key. And last but not least, if for some reason Day[9] doesn't have his own key, or is borrowing one or something, for the love of God give that man a beta key, as I think the entire community could only benefit from him sharing his expertise. | ||
