He mentioned being able to pay for 4 classes, which according to the USC tuition page, is between $1300-$1800/unit (I believe he said "credits", and I don't know if 1 unit = 1 credit), so I'd have to guess at least $5k, which is truly awesome. (I feel a little creepy looking up the info, but Day's smart enough to know that by mentioning that he could pay for his classes upfront, someone could guesstimate the donation amount. Day, mods, feel free to delete this post if you don't want that this info posted.) He's taking 12 units, or 4 classes, I believe. That's around $16,320 dollars. It's around $1,360 dollars per credit hour. Since there are other fees, and he still needs to pay rent, have food and everything else, I'm going to estimate that it's around, at the very least, $26,320 or more dollars total for tuition+everything else. I'm guessing that he pays rent/utilities with his "casting" money, so I would estimate that he received around $18-20,000 dollars in donations (food costs added in). Source: http://www.usc.edu/dept/publications/cat2010/tuition/ Graduate Student (15-18 units) 20,192.00 unit basis 1,360.00 Edit: Whether he is taking 3 or 4 classes, I'm not totally sure, with 3 classes it's $12,240 dollars. I would estimate then he received around $15,000 dollars in donations.

Not to mention that it's a huge relief for a student to have that much less loan on the bank account when your future&income is still uncertain at that stage. Great to see that there are so many nice people who thank him for his work instead of taking it for granted. =) Unfortunately I couldn't donate (a international transfer like that is to expensive for me :/), but if he ever gets lost in my area of the world, I'll invite him to a free dinner&beer at the local sushibar. I bet he could couch-surf around the world for free if he wanted too. SC2 players are everywhere, well at least when there's a internet connection.. =)

If he get some time on his hands and isn't to busy with studies he should just go on a worldwide trip for like 6month -1 year couch surf through all the SC2 nerds'homes and do dailies out of their living rooms!!!!!!!!!! This would be like one of the sickest things an Internet community could pull off and would just show how fucking great the SC2 Community is!!! And we would get to know how all our fellow nerds live on the other side of the world :D Day9 if you decide to do so you can crash here whenever you like! Day9 for SC2 World Domination Tour 2011!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok, the flying costs should be sponsored somehow, but please post what you guys think of that?

I didn't know how many people new about this fundraiser from Reddit (it was mentioned a few times on this thread, but that could have easily been missed by most people). However, I shouldn't be surprised. If he sometimes gets over 10k viewers, and if even half of them donated $5, that'd be $25k. well he goes to usc grad school... theres no way it would be under 10k. maybe with instate tuition plus scholarships, but hes not native to california (although he did undergrad in cali, couldve gotten residency already i suppose)

I mean, he does have about 20,000 active fans (I know his dailies only net around 10-15 thousand, but they are also actively viewed the next day on blip. Anywho, if each fan donated $10, he'd have $200,000. That's the power of goodwill ![]() I don't believe that he asked for it, but I do believe that the fans would have gladly invested $10 of their money into him As he has said before, he has the best fan base ever!

No post on Twitter... however, I seem to have a 3 hour delay on when he posts it to when I see it :s I was addicted to the race-specific Fundays, and (for the first week) team mono-battles. But now it doesn't seem too fun to just mass a single unit.....
