Im not saying this is the case but if Razer (the sponsor of the tournament) had say asked that the tourny finals were streamed by certain people then DeMuslim would not be within his rights to demand anything from those particular streamers. Im pretty sure that wasnt the case here and that neither demuslim or day9 over reacted. Im just saying that in tournaments its not categorically up to the players.

So he should go through changing a stream every time someone from the other side of the world has lag?
A little ridicilous

How is this ridiculous? If livestream and blip.tv seemed to be fine before then it would be easier for the rest of us (not blessed with your awesome net mojo) to see Day's stuff.

In this particular tournament the rules state (http://razer.cups.gamesports.net/information/rules):
4.1 Coverage partners are allowed to observe all matches. In case of lags players are allowed to continue without further observers besides league officials. There was lag so players were allowed to continue without further observers, but they were nice enough to let some stay.

Yo. Just wondering. Does anyone know when Day[9] is going to be casting with Gretorp and what tournament is it?
|
Pretty sweet job you're doing Day9.
I'm in Thailand atm, and ustream and livestream just won't load, at all. Looks like an IP thing on either side. Only a blank page appears on all these links.
Luckily, blip.tv is pretty fast, I just hope you get the time to upload all your SC2 cast soon.

Your upside down tank is OP day !!!

hey Day i was wondering if you could find and show the game in sc1 where nazgul faced jinnam i think his name is on lost temple on that show that pits a pro against an up and coming person to thrash them then nazgul wins, i been tryn to find it but cant

@Day[9]
Ustream rocks, no lag(I'm based in EU), better FPS and better quality.
Cons: The Ustream logo, ask them if you move to their site, if they can remove it, or change the positioning.

day should talk with djwheat about the quality etc. When i watch day9 ustream it freezes sporadically and today in the TLI it was just perfect, no freezes, good quality etc...
|
I'm waiting for the transfert to blip.tv

I agree. Plus maybe they can move it to the right hand side?

Ustream has a bad habit of the little advertisements show up every 20 seconds or so, at least's its not stopping the video every 10:35 seconds for a 30 second clip for a product i refuse to buy because of it.

I can't argue with the video quality at ustream; the problem is, it's sort of hard to take advantage of in a full screen sort of way.
As a bit of background: I run two monitors, and usually maximize the casts on one while allowing me to use the other for, for instance, responding to IMs from friends. Hence, the "fullscreen" button doesn't really work very well, as it means that every time I, for instance, want to type anything or interact with any other window, it immediately drops fullscreen mode and we're back to the usual dinky little window.
Now, on Livestream, this is easy - you open the popout window, you maximize it, and problem solved. Blip.tv lacks this functionality, but using the Firefox zoom to blow it up to fill a window works pretty well. The problem with ustream is that it doesn't have either of these options - there's no popout window you can maximize, and using the Firefox zoom on it is unbelievable CPU hog - it renders my computer more or less unusable, and it ain't because I have an old or slow computer.
Hence: while the video quality on ustream is certainly pretty good, I find it to be the least useful of the 3 hosting methods used so far because there's just no good way to view it at a reasonable size and still do something else at the same time.

My ustream has a popout, I use it all the time.

Hmm. Upon investigation, some ustream pages have popout buttons, but I don't see one on Day[9]s pages. Am I just not finding it, or is it not there? And if it's not there, could it be added?

Hey mate,
I heard you got a mechanics video or something?
Could you link me there (or anyone else)? PM would be nice, too.
Thanks!

Love your casts Day!
Where did you get that Ghost Poster? It's awesome!

Day, you NEED to do a D9D on Jinro's TvZ that he was playing during the Zotac cup today.
Reaper speed into ghosts for snipe into marines/marauder drops around the map for map control. It was amazing and he was decimating zerg all day.
