He's right when he says the style is boring and stupid. I guarantee you that you could ask Stephano and he would say the same exact thing. It's even worse than infestor broodlord since instead of pushing out with your doom army you literally do not attack all game long. I would be just as crushed if I felt in any way that that is the direction the MU is moving, and unfortunately it may well be.
The fact that Sean did a daily on this style means that he is putting the analysis out there, and he recognizes that it is going to become more mainstream. Why would he do a daily on a particular style if he did not recognize its worth (for good or bad)?

Because the whole episode was in jest and he did a fairly good job of analyzing exactly why the style is stupid. Day9 knows Stephano. He respects Stephano. I'd go so far to say he's a pretty big fan, just as he is all the other players out there.

He did very similar thing about Stephano's 12min max roach style and about immortal-sentry all-in. And in neither instance was it bashing, you just have terrible skill in detecting sarcasm and are unable to see that he actually bashes the style, not the player, and even then he does that on the grounds of aesthetics not effectiveness or gameplay worth. He did those dailies to analyse valid and very effective strategies (which he said over and over) even though he does not like the fact that those strategies are effective. It was complaint against game design not a player.

I was pretty surprised that Day9 got some OSL replays. Maybe since this is technically a Blizzard tournament they can force the replays to be given to anyone they want.

I'm really confused, because like, it says you're from the U.S. but you have got to be Romanian.
Seriously though, you have completely misinterpreted that daily. He wouldn't do a daily on a style to bash it, he's frixing showing people how to use it and explaining the ins and outs of it... it's just perceived as boring by most players, so he makes jokes about it. I'm not gonna go into Day[9]'s relationship with Stephano, but Day[9] not only avoids bashing players, but is friends with every person on the planet it seem.
