Seems weird that Barca have been dallying around and trying to renegotiate the Marcus Rashford price, and are going out and spending over double that on Anthony Gordon
They’re very similar players, do their best work on the left but can do a job in any of the front 3 positions, and are very direct and bloody pacy when in full flow
I guess Gordon is perhaps a little more physically dynamic, Rashford is probably a better striker of the ball, Gordon’s a few years younger
I wonder if wages are the factor here or something. Rashford can count himself a bit unlucky here I think. Put in a solid 7/7.5 out of 10 season, covered all 3 front positions between injuries and players being rested and his numbers were pretty solid
probably more to do with his work ethic and attitude. he probably humbled down a bit at barca but i wouldnt be surprised if barca got sniffs of what rashford showed at united. theres a reason why united fans arent clamoring for him to return to the club despite him being an academy product and, quite honestly, still a very talented player. if he doesnt feel like it he cant be arsed and it shows. and it happens too often
Every PL club will buy Gordon if he fails at Barca because young, PL proven and English. No one wants Rashford in England - for that reason alone Gordon is worth the money.

In fairness Villa probably would have signed Rashford but for PSR regulations, he does have a certain market

Maybe it's just my lack of knowledge of clubs outside the top 6, but Rashford feels like he's got way more miles behind him despite being only 28. It takes pretty special longevity to be an absolute world class talent on your early 20s and then remain relevant and healthy into your 30s.
I don't know if that's something you can reliably evaluate, but I could see that being a factor when considering players like Rashford.
I think Flick doesnt like Rashford because he doesn't press enough, that is why they are going for Gordon who works a lot.
Rashford fees are also high, and Barcelona problem this last two years has not been transfer fees, it has been wage fees trying to fit them into la liga wage requirements.
It's very hard to cheer for this Arsenal. I'm mostly cheering against PSG, but Arsenal is not making it at all easy with their unadventurous bland play.
I find penalty shootout to be way too punishing for the one that makes a mistake, have to feel bad for Gabriel even if its great that Arsenal didnt win.

But im glad the better team won. Im not happy it was not a landslide during regular time but at least the result in the end was what it should be.
I really don’t think PSG were better, Arsenal shut them down magnificently and I don’t think either side really created all that much
Felt to me a very 50/50 game, ultimately someone has to win and someone has to lose.
Penalty shout for Arsenal, I’m not sure it’s necessarily a massive outrage but it feels odd it wasn’t at least reviewed
stats dont really show a 50/50 game. But i was more referring to the overal value of the team, not the best team in the game, given that i didn't watch it due to the channel it was aired on.
