It's £53m, a world record for a defender. I wonder if Pande still thinks Levy would accept £100m for Kane. edit: not that I'm happy about the deal. Strengthening a direct rival is idiotic, especially when we all know that Levy will pretend to go after a suitable replacement only to sign someone from the Belorussian fifth division on deadline day for £500k.

Also i like how Chelsea fans are in deep panic over not signing anyone even though we have signed 2 players soon to be 3....Spurs not even signed anyone yet and have lost a player who was in the starting 11 for most of the season. Ouch ![]()

What Spurs need is quality depth in the squad. The CL group stage was brutal because any rotation meant a huge drop in quality.

Thats the keyword, Spurs were the best team in the league on their day pretty much as good as Chelsea at their best but they had a few too many games where they didnt turn up and fatigue, more so mental than physical (but ofcourse both) had alot to do with it.

City aren't big enough and they are find in that set up. So unless Real comes in for him or Kane really has a bust up in Spurs he is staying there for a while now. Ouch ![]() Who cares about the others. Just cuz spurs is having a quiet window so far doesn't mean ours is going smoothly. We're suppose to be adding quality and quantity to our squad to compete in Europe, but we're just replacing at the moment and the upgrade is not there yet. We were very lucky last season in that we had relatively few injuries, so we really need to do something about the thin squad.

Clear to see that Conte is pulling the strings here though on players which is only good for us. Last year the press were no where near any of our signings minus Kante. Luiz Alonso all came in without the press getting a sniff. So don't worry to much yet ![]() Chinese window has now shut too so that should drive the prices down for the likes of Augamon, but not sure if he is a Conte player and good enough ![]()

I'm just doubting they were the best team in the league if they could not even qualify against two average European teams.

They werent the best team in the league, Chelsea was the best team in the league. The point was that their peak performances were as good if not better than Chelsea on their day which is more than can be said for the rest of the league. The issue was depth and maintaining consistency in said performances. A poor showing in Europe: 1) builds into the narrative that their lack of depth was an issue 2) Really should have no bearing on how we judge their performances in the league (barring the caveat that it may have, if anything, affected league performance negatively. Again the lack of depth) Regardless whatever happens in Europe is in Europe. Using European performance to benchmark a team in league play is completely irrelevant in this case. Maybe if you wanted to compare teams across leagues it would matter. After all there was a team few years ago that came in 6th or (was it 7th? dont remember, dont care) in the league, that won in Europe. Wh\ere they the best team in the league? Then? Pande will tell you they were. Do you think so to ?

As I already said, Pochettino rotated the squad for CL games, and the Spurs squad outside of the starting XI is mediocre at best. He tended to rest Dembele and Wanyama (the starting midfield pair) and rotated the full backs. Kane was also missing for some of the group stage games, and his replacement Janssen played like Soldado 2.0.

I hope they keep playing around Eriksen, he's almost like an old school 10.
