And then macherano only played 5 games the entire season, and tevez seemed like a total flop until the last two games of the season (he had 3 goals in 24 matches), but then in those final two games he scored 4 out of 4 west ham goals, securing two crucial wins that saved them from relegation.

Pretty sure Mascherano was transfered to Liverpool even BEFORE the season was over, like half season i guess ?

yeah that is correct. he only played 5 PL games for liverpool as well that season though - so 10 total.

We lost 1-2 to Greece at home in a friendly. Good preparation for the future disappointments in the worldcup qualifiers. It was an awful match too so there is literally no hope left.

One can hope I don't get why they hired him. He failed as coach with Ajax so why hire him for the national team? Assistent sure but why the promotion to head coach? Our team isn't the greatest at all but god damn he doesn't make them play any better either.

Good ole fashioned Cronyism (vriendjes politiek). I think LvG played a role in his appointment.

It's amazing how quickly things change. 3 years ago Yaya Toure was the hotest thing in the Premier League. Now he's surplus to requirement and all but out the door.
Having not seen the game Japan losing to United Arab Emirates in a for keeps qualifying game sounds just unthinakable. But someone keeps whispering the word Iceland, Iceland, Iceland at me and I lose my train of thought.
Korea must have thought they had things in the bag 3:0 up and cruising. But two quick Chinese goals and there's a hell of nervous final 15 mins. I bet with the national pride involved that games pretty intense. I might try and find the second half somewhere next time I am bored. It's got to be worth a watch.

That's in part due to his dip shit of an agent.
|
i think if he played well, even a dipshit agent cant fuck it up. but he sucks

Exeter City fight hard with spirit of Boudica to once again leave Camulodunum in ruins. The great come back win was much needed and lifts us out of the relegation zone. Colchester United 2:3 Exeter City
Thinking it through Exeter is also a Roman City and probably I should have gone with some Roman civil war analaogy. I think the tropps that were meant to defend Colchester were actually in Exeter when Boudica invaded so there's a link but I'm to drunk to make this work..

The problem with yaya is that he always was a kinda "lazy" player, he had some god tier level skills but he is so fucking lazy
now he is old AND lazy

Watching england just never gets old. Best thing is, if they manage to sneak a win in the last 5 minutes, then the commentators will imediately start talking about their chances to win the world cup.

Pretty sure the cycle is going to repeat. England strolls comfortably and qualifies for tournaments. Then they get hyped as fuck. Then look clueless and outclassed in the tournament, crashing out in the first knockout round. Then FA sticks with Sam, and again it repeats for 2020.
