Some do use their city as their name like Utrecht, Groningen. Though it seems only here that clubs think up a completely random name for themselves, like Ajax, Heracles, Go Ahead Eagles, Sparta. On top of that, we have these crazy acronyms from the past. ADO = 'Everything Through Practice', RODA = 'Straight At The Goal'. Europe:
PL: Arsenal, Crystal Palace don't use their location.
Liga: Levante, Sociedad.
Bund: Maybe Hertha.

On topic: kinda excited for tonight, I think United can't really afford to lose this, let's see how bad PSV really is. Prediction: 1-3.

lol it's funny, I had a giant brainfart during the previous post cuz when I looked at the matches from the picture above I was like 'eindhoven? never even heard of them'.

psv-united isn't that crappy of a match though, that should be fairly fun.

It's just the German way, no club without a city, town or village. Even Hertha BSC contains Berlin. PSV are typically called PSV Eindhoven here, even if it's wrong.

Schalke ist just a district name of Gelsenkirchen. Ask a random person and they won't know where or what schalke is, besides the football club... Hell, just ask google... Even google ignores the existance of the district and only knows the club.

I tried to make every team clearly recognizable, using the same font and maximum width. PSV Eindhoven is too wide, and I'm not sure that every poster here would recognize just PSV immediatly (different for Real, Bayern). Add to that I originally had PSG, and that just looked to short.
Not a perfect system, but I achieved what I was aiming for. Oh and PSV is in the picture

So I was happy to finally have champions league back, but then I see the german teams playing today or wolfsburg and mbach. I guess ill watch city vs juve.
