Bayern-Juve and Atletico-Bayern were very entertaining, and Wolfsburg-Real was at least promising. Atletico beating Barca again was a nice upset.

This is what i don't like about them, i get the parking the bus vs most teams in Europe as they are not as strong, but vs PSV 210 minutes they did the exact same they did to Bayern/Barca, it made no sense. Zero ambition at all is strange, even in Mourinho days we would attack vs anyone xd

Zero ambition at all is strange, even in Mourinho days we would attack vs anyone xd Back then they were in a bad shape peak. Torres was unable to score for months, Jackson was sold after failing. Griezman had his worst month. Koke was playing weak most of the seadon, Augusto had not adapted. They had lot of troubles scoring in la liga, and they loosed to Sporting. But then these problems solved. People should understand that clubs are not static, and their level vary across the season.

Also your point is valid, but the coach set them up to play that way in the first place. He didn't change the way he played vs PSV, whether they are scoring goals now or not, they went into the games with the same counter style like they were the underdog.

Blame UEFA for changed seeds since this year. Champion of Russia and Portugal are in pot1 (Benfica Lissabon and Moscow this season). They want want excitement in groupstages, thats why we had juve&manc and real&psg groupstages. But this means we have more weaker and stronger duels (more unbalanced duels) in round of sixteen (psg vs chelsea, fcb vs juve, wolfsburg vs genk and lissabon vs moscow). Next season we will see 3 top duels in last sixteen because of dortmund. In other words we will never see the 8 best teams in top8 (even mathematically) with the current seeds but previous seeds did.

Like looking back at this CL draw, the 4 of the top8 pot1, the other 4 were in pot2. There is the super simple scenario, where the topseeds from pot 2 are drawn together with the trash seeds from pot1... Then you have suddenly one Top8 team in each group. And if they now defend their topteam status, they win their groups, and certainly won't meet in the Ro16. But even if they are drawn together with another topteam, they can still meet some trashteam in the Ro16and advance. Yes, it can happen, that a top 8 team meets another top8 team, and then the second place finisher meets another top8 team in the Ro16. Now it can even happen without any topteam ever losing to a weaker team, which was impossible before. But your statement is so far from the truth...

What do you mean by the 8 best teams? You know that Benfica would be in Pot1 either way with the previous seeding? In the beginning of the season we were in 5th on the Uefa Ranking. 8 best teams is completly subjective. Unless you go by the Uefa coeficient and currently the top 8 teams are 1. Real Madrid 2. Bayern Munchen 3. Barcelona 4. Atletico Madrid 5. Chelsea 6. Benfica 7. PSG 8. Dortmund. This numbers means that this 8 teams were the most balanced teams in european competitions for the last 5 seasons (including this one). 6 of this teams were in this years Quarter finals of the Champions League. You just need to trade Chelsea for City and Dortmund for Wolfsburg. This means that the seed structure it's pretty balanced and fair.

Current seeds says current CL champion and winner every country (7) are in top1. In other words: Dortmund will be in pot 2 and one of spain team too next season. So think further about round of sixteen. edit: Imagine what happens if Dortmund and Atletico win the league. Both FCB are in pot2 next season.

Both FCB are in pot2 next season. So what? This does not make your statement more true. Even if two Top8 teams are in the same group (which is not a given, could as well happen, that they all end in different groups) you may have realized, that two teams can advance from each group. And who they meet in the Ro16 is almost entirely up to luck...

Also Villareal losing there heads worst than Tottenham and they still only 1 goal away from going through. Ref losing control faster than Spurs lost the title at Stamford Bridge ![]()
