The day before.... my fpl woes + Show Spoiler + After holding the 1st place in our league for about 18 hours last spring I had awful 2-3 months to end the season almost as low as Pande. My dreams got crushed. So after trying to prepare enough to secure a better spot than Pande this season I noticed a few things I dislike about fpl.
1. Hazard/Aguero (captaincy) More than 50% of all teams own Hazard at the moment. The easy way out is to get him yourself and captain him every week. Lots of people will do so but while you won't make big jumps forward you prevent yourself to drop a lot when he has a 25+(50+ as captain) points gameweek. The thing with Hazard and Aguero is that together they already cost 25% of your budget. Sure captaincy allows you to gamble every now and then and improve doing so but it takes away quite some choice if you want to be competetive. You might be super lucky and rotate captaincy between Siggy, Özil, Sterling, Depay, Chadli and score loads but the safe way out is to have one of the big hitters. I dislike that.
2. Defenders The likes of Ivanovic outscore midfielders of the same cost by a good margin. But there aren't too many Ivanovics which creates a situation in that a 3man defense is almost always favoured. I think about dropping huge money into my defense and try to go 5-3-2 as my formation just to see how that goes. .... Most likely gameweek 4 will see a wildcard because Pande's already too far ahead and I need loads of strikers to repair the damage.
3. Budget too high? I had a look at a German fantasy league last year and the prices there didn't allow for a lot of stars to be owned. That felt shitty. On the other hand in fpl you can be somewhat successful having a midfield/attack of Hazard, Özil, Siggy, Chadli, Ritchie, Rooney, Benteke, Sakho. That in comparison feels like a lot of star power and only leaves you with 2-3 spots per starting 11 that might be filled with guys from the smaller clubs.
tldr.: i hate captaincy. everything else is okay.

How are all the Dutch league games cancelled for the police strikes, but a high risk game that requires extra police force like Feyenoord - Utrecht is given the go ahead?

United did manage to lose to Milton Keynes last year. Nothings written in stone.

Too bad, I hoped for ManU vs Monaco, that could have easily been the end of ManU's Champions League adventure.

I can't believe that Madrid still wants De Gea. They have Keylor Navas, that is awesome. He made so many awesome saves the other day against Bayern Munich. And the new second goalkeeper, Casilla (he was the Espanyol keeper) is very good too.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Jose Mourinho has signed a new four-year contract.
The new deal, announced on the eve of the new season, will keep the 52-year-old at Stamford Bridge until at least 2019. chelseafc.com

If there was a good English keeper i would like him at Chelsea, same with Rooney Sterling etc. Plus he is a good keeper and will do very well for Real.

Yes, but wasting 30 or 40k for a national goalkeeper that you don't need is crazy. He will be free next year.
I guess that if they purchase De Gea, Keylor Navas will exit this summer.
