Or I guess maybe Dolan really thinks Rondo/Bargnani/Chandler could go all the way, maybe this was the plan all along, obv worth trading away the picks.

(The Knicks drafted him and traded him, of course) Interesting read: http://www.ohio.com/blogs/cleveland-cavaliers/cleveland-cavaliers-1.275356/cavs-103-wizards-96-ot-jason-lloyd-s-final-thoughts-1.445539 Total Rebound Pct We will see if he can keep this up. If anything, his hustle alone is the reason he should be out there. It is just too bad that it is when they should be trying to stay below 10th place! .. And I remember when Jordan Hill was drafted actually. I think Isaiah Thomas got some shit for that pick (he always liked drafting the tough, gritty guys that try to outwork you). So far, the Lakers haven't really lost any games they were supposed to win, but have actually won a few they were supposed to lose. So a little better than expected as of now. Meeks is playing well in this system also at the moment: + Show Spoiler [eFG%] + Effective Field Goal Pct + Show Spoiler [TS%] + True Shooting Pct Additional basketball-reference numbers that stood out: -Hibbert having a ridiculous 11.4 block percentage -Although not as impressive as LBJ, Klay Thompson and A.I.'s TS% and eFG%. To a lesser extent, Lin as well. Morey is smart for recently saying Lin is their second option on offense after Harden.

The Pistons were actually really fun to watch in that first half last night, they seemed like they were really clicking for a while. I don't know what happened but they completely melted down in the 3rd which after browsing some sites I learned is sadly common for them.

Rondo has two years left just like Amare, and without Melo the Knicks won't contend for anything next year and won't have a draft pick either. I guess maybe convince Rondo to resign in 2015 but without anyone he can pass to. Having a clean slate in 2015 isn't so great as the free agents are bad and NYK won't have draft picks to build around and have literally no way to get a first round pick. Or I guess maybe Dolan really thinks Rondo/Bargnani/Chandler could go all the way, maybe this was the plan all along, obv worth trading away the picks. The Knicks' trade rumors irritate me. Because New York is the largest city in the US, their local papers have national and even international reach. They keep publishing retarded lopsided trade rumors that ridiculously overprice their dregs. Then the national media like ESPN and SI publish serious pieces analyzing the trade proposals instead of just laughing at the Knicks.

The Knicks would still be garbage and the Celtics would be stuck with 5... ok 4 useless players and still be a lottery team. I think it would be pretty even tbh. NY wants Melo to not opt out and bringing Rondo would probably do it. In a perfect world Knicks would have a clean slate for 2015 but Knicks don't know what rebuilding is.

The problem with your logic is that it assumes that the Celtics either keep Rondo or deal him in the package you suggested. I think it's far wiser to keep Rondo, keep shopping him for deals that will bring them more than just Shump+expirings, perhaps even let him play later in the season to show teams how good he is, then try to deal him right before the deadline when fringe playoff teams or whatever are desperate or wait until the offseason. There's no reason to rush now for a subpar deal.

I wouldn't want him as my starting PG on an NBA finals team (though if I had 2 other super stars or something why not) but he's a solid choice for most teams. I'd like to think most Knicks fans only said that to stop the tears from flowing. Lin gave them a good reason to watch Knicks basketball, which has yet to reappear for me.
