I'd take Howard+Love over Howard+Blake or what we have now. Blake Griffin is a terrifying man, but I think the dunk highlight reel that he clogs won it for him. Love is the best PF in the league and deserves to start hands down.

The West's starting frontcourt is going to be Durant, Love and Blake. D12, not Love, didn't make the cut. Personally, I think the voters got that right. Blake has progressed far beyond being just a highlight/dunk machine and has outplayed D12 for sure this season.

To me, personally, it's gonna suck because I'm a new orleans fan who lives a couple hours away and I wanna go see Davis dunk on dudes in the all star game. The grandfathering in stuff inherently takes away spots from dudes like Lillard, Davis, and Cousins.

It's gonna be tough to dunk on dudes when they aren't playing any defense. This game is for the fans, and the fans want to see Kobe.

Yeah, I was trying to say Love deserves the spot he was voted into. In the end, I'm not happy about the overall lack of centers(there's what, 3 of them between the two conferences?), and it seems wrong to have two PFs starting rather than a PF+C combo.
The reason I'd rather Howard over Griffin in the end is his defensive presence. In the last month alone, Howard has 21 blocks opposed to Blake's 6. Steals are 18-13 in favor of Blake, though the disparity in that stat is noticeable compared to blocks.
Then again, I always forget the ASG is half popularity and half skill. Howard's rep as a crybaby hurts him in the end.
Also, the east's lineup: who the hell is going to guard Love? Melo? I'd take posted up Love on Melo any day.

Well you're talking in terms of a basketball team, I was talking about fan voting. Simply put Love got the least amount of votes in the starting lineup, thus beating out D12 (I'm not even sure if D12 got the 4th most Forward/Center votes). Clearly we can't rely on fan voting, or the all-star team for that matter, to field a proper basketball lineup.

All games are for the fans. A subsection of fans want to see Kobe. A very annoying, shitty subsection who decided to vote in a guy who hasn't played games. Maybe we should vote derrick rose in, too.

Blake deserves to be there. I don't like him but people claiming all he does is dunk are crazy.
Davis still has a chance to make it in, I'd put him in the reserves but I could see him just missing out as well.
And I could be wrong but if dude doesn't play don't they fill in with someone anyway? It's not like Kobe is literally taking up a slot, I remember last year they filled in cause someone got injured.

Maybe people have a sentimental, and not a shitty annoying reason for him in. Or maybe they're just like those assholes that voted for Magic in 1992.

Blake definitely deserves to be there. He has been tearing it up, and even with no CP3 now.

Headed to the Pacers/Kings game tonight. Always good to see my Pacers live. Too bad no Cousins or Gay, the game probably will be terrible. Maybe PG does some amazing things.

Teague is playing worse than last year though, just at more minutes. And he's still really bad at defense. Even without Rose and DWill getting in (which they don't deserve, but will anyways), I think there's too many better guards in the East (and SG and PG are combined for ASG now.) MCW, Stephenson, Irving, Wall, Afflalo. Maybe even Evan Turner or Kemba Walker before Teague.
The only thing Jeff Teague is struggling more with this year than last year is his shot. Beyond that, he's doing great leading the Hawks down the court. As for defense, I'm not sure where you got the impression he's bad. Then again, I'm a total homer. :S

So Melo caps a 37 point first half with a running half court three.
When you're hot you're hot.
|
51 points for melo atm with 21-28 shooting. HOLY
|
Not sure about keeping Melo in when he's exhausted in a 40 point blow out vs. one of the worst teams in the league just to break a meaningless record. Great performance nonetheless. Also lol @ drafting Cody Zeller, he shouldn't be in the league.
|
yeah Melo's been trying to carry a useless team all season playing almost all game every game,,,,but this looks like hes having fun so....
|
Melo 62 carrying dem horrible knicks.
|
|
Don't know how he does it with no arc on his shot.

Somebody tell the Celtics not to tank this bad when OKC doesn't have Durant.
