The desire coming out of the half was unbelievable. Barca complete failure to handle the shot in the arm. They should have expected itand tried to kill the pace of the game out of the break Deserving winners. Its disappointing ofcourse but cant have any complaints. | ||

This isnt to say that other teams werent motivated. I do think that Atleti's approach is interesting, they know how to play at all sorts of tempo's and how best to play during every period of the game. Its by far the most measured approach of the top 3. And thats really been the difference those 3 points are down to them being just that bit more solid a league team. | ||

That might sound strange, but I think winning the league is a bigger achievement than winning the CL for a team like Atletico... Beating Barcelona and RM over 38 games is a lot more difficult than winning 3x2 legs games + 1 final. Especially for a team than relies on strong defense and counter-attack. | ||

I saw 1:0 and thought that was that. Spain needs more teams at the top competing for the tittle. Long may Atletico stay competitive at the top, not sure how likely that is. | ||
