I guess if he gets back on form there's nothing wrong with having eto'o on the bench Meh, playing for a crappy team with little chemistry, bizarre geographical quirks and in a racist country can't do much for a player. He surely is still world class and would be a top scorer over here I am sure.

But assuming Mourinho wants him, convincing Abramovitch to sign a more than 30 yo player is going to be difficult. As much as I would love some tension in the big/rich clubs, Im pretty sure Mourinho and Abramovitch have worked out some ground rules already.

This is because STUPID FIFA decided that having a round of friendly internationals 3 days before La Liga/Premiership and Bundesliga start (ok Bundesliga 2nd week but still) that more players might get injured on international duties or in cases like Spain, they play fucking Ecuador in Ecuador so those Spanish players might not play the games opening week etc. Interesting descions to be made, but after them all coming back Thursday afternoon and training Friday you will find out then who is injured/has knocks. yeah sounds reasonable, thanks for the advice. how important is the national team for u guys anyway? I talked with a big arsenal fan this summer and he told me that the biggest supporters of the national team are from small english clubs and thats why u see mostly names from unknown clubs on the St George's Cross when in england plays.

I talked with a big arsenal fan this summer and he told me that the biggest supporters of the national team are from small english clubs and thats why u see mostly names from unknown clubs on the St George's Cross when in england plays. Well National team is the National team, we English always follow our National just as passionatly as any other Nation across the world, the big difference is, our players are just shite......lol We hype them up worst than Brazil hypes up there players, and atleast Brazilian players can play the game well and can out pass the majority of teams. England does nothing well, the National team right now is at the same low point it has been when Steve Mclaren was in charge and we are playing AWFUL football. The flags u see round the grounds during internationals are normally names on of a group of supporters or a name of a friend who has passed away. We don't have names of players on Flags, not to my knowledge anyway. Normally have things like "Derby Supports Club" etc. I guess bluntly Sixfour is right, the majority of fans get more excited about their own club than there country these days. The majority of football fans in England HATE watching England because for the talent we supposedly have the National team is worst than watching Non League football, its just crap. But i would defiantly say NO ONE would turn there back on their country in terms of football fans. Every game England play it will still be watched by Millions in England, but they just don't expect anything anymore and rarely get excited about qualifiers and friendlies. However when the world cup comes round next summer IF (it's a bloody big IF atm) we get there the WHOLE country will be football mad and be raving about our chances ^_^

Yeah i would say that. I mean winning the Premier League being the best team playing everyone 2 times, over the course of 8months is better than winning the Champions League, not due to it being a better cup, just it being a better example of who is the best. The best team in Europe doesn't always win the league. Chelsea won it the other year, we were not the best team in Europe that year, however that does balance out the times when i personally think we have been the best in Europe, twice as a matter of fact. When we lost to Yanited on penalties i thought we were better squad wise and player to player wise. Then when we lost to Barcelona in 2010 i personally think our squad was much better than any other in Europe and we deserved to get to the final. But coming back onto the point, the best team doesn't always win the competition, Chelsea Liverpool wins are all good points that they weren't the best in the competition, and being a knock out competition and not having to play every top team means that if you turn up on the day and get that luck you can win the whole thing. You can't do that in a league system where you play the best teams every week (or in the premierships case, good teams every week with some top games too). Thats why i think id rather be champions of England more times than champions of Europe. Yanited dominated English league wins under Fergie and it showed, they were up there every year challenging for that title, yet on the European level they have only won the cup twice under Fergie (vs Chelsea in 2008 and Bayern in 1998) and only reached the final on one other occasion losing to Barcelona in Wembley 2-0. Yet Fergie still is one of the best managers in the world.
