Italy looked very sluggish and their defense made a lot of mistakes, but part of being a powerhouse is the ability to take the win in the end even if you got owned the entire game. I also think this game was a taste of what it could look like when teams pressure Pirlo. Mexico didn't pressure him at all and Italy made them look silly as a reward. Japan learned from Mexico's mistake. | ||

It comes down to how good he is and if he's worth it. Messi needs at least 3-4 players around him when he gets the ball for example. But against an old pirlo it's easier to pull off. | ||
