CARLSBAD, Calif. – Nov. 6, 2012 - Razer, the world leader in high-performance gaming hardware, and MVP, all-star South Korean StarCraft II pro-team, have come together to make mineral harvesting, build-order-queuing and opponent-destroying a highly precise affair with the MVP Razer Goliathus e-Sports edition mouse mat. Only five months after their official recognition as a pro-team by the Korea StarCraft II Association, MVP placed second in the 2011 Global Starcraft II Team League May, sealing their status as a force to be reckoned with in the StarCraft II e-Sports scene. MVP went on to win the overall 2011 Global StarCraft II Team League Season 1 and, in 2012, Korean StarCraft II League Opening Ceremonies and the Asia StarCraft II Invitational Tournament.
“MVP is one of those teams where every single pro-gamer in the roster is quite literally a Most Valuable Player,” said Robert ‘RazerGuy’ Krakoff, president of Razer USA. “DongRaeGu, KeeN, Sniper, TaiLS, and Vampire are a few on the list. These players are formidable individuals, but when you put them together in one team, they are unstoppable. The MVP Razer Goliathus mouse mat pays tribute to their excellence and contribution to e-Sports, delivering an exciting high level of play for us all to enjoy and learn from.”

So we are happy to share a part of our team with them through the MVP Razer Goliathus, and we hope it encourages them to always play their best too.”
Exclusively designed with MVP’s iconic shield logo, the Goliathus mat gives fans an exclusive badge of allegiance to their favourite team, as well as performance-boosting features like its heavily textured weave delivering the right level of resistance for controlled, precise movements under their gaming mice.
The MVP Razer Goliathus e-Sports Edition is now available for purchase from Razerzone.com and will soon be available from TeamLiquid.net.

They're twice as good when you tape two together. Just saying.

How are threads like this allowed on TL again?

Razer is a sponsor of TL.

You dummy. Razer sponsors everyone, they're the best thing to happen to esports since esports.

Yeah my bad. This was sure an interesting read about SC2
Isn't SC retired? Or playing LoL?
When will TeamLiquid Store have it for sale?

Erm..
sweeeet! Gonna purchase one this weekend, can't wait to get the gosu-level gameplay that comes with!
Does the mat have online registration for usage too?
Wow really cool! If only I hadn't like, just bought my Team Liquid one :'(
Oh... maybe one for the office tho...
cool but i'm not MVP fan =(( 1 sec thought it was IMMvp one
So we should expect to see commercial based threads on TL.Net from now on?
That's a separate part of TL.Net. I'm talking about making commercial based threads in the none commercials areas of TL.Net. such as General, SC2 General etc.
Reposting my first response since I really would like an answer to this; So we should expect to see commercial based threads on TL.Net from now on?
oh how much would i pay for a TSL or FXO one.... :-D but this is sick too, thinking about buying it actually since the one i have now kinda sux tt

Well if it's an interesting SC2 read you were after all you had to do was ask! Here go you.

Looks pretty neat, though id rather have a Liquid pad! Razer is so awsome and does so much for eSports though!
I feel like I have to get this now...>_>
Good shit. I'm seeing myself buying several lol
pretty cool that TL is going to be selling these :D.
glad that TL is willing to help MVP and the foreign fans (and their partner of course).

I have a question for TeamRazer. Does TeamMVP get a cut from the proceeds from EACH sold mousepad? Or did razer just paid them straight up once for the name branding.
This is relevant for those of us who wants to support the team directly.

I can't get too specific for obvious reasons but yes Neo, our teams do receive a percentage of the proceeds from their respective branded Razer products. Every mouse mat sold will help support the team.
Ohhh awesome!! I must have it ! and the team gets a cut? I might buy 2!
I also have a question -- are you planning to make these for more SC teams? You sponsor quite a few of them and I think an FXO one would sell just as good as an MVP one...

Good, I've been pushing for this shit for a long time. It's ridiculous thus far that fans couldn't financially support teamMVP when they want to.

Last year we held a 'Team of the Year' vote through which the fans chose which Team Razer member would have their own branded versions of the Goliathus mouse mat and DeathAdder mouse. We may be doing that again this year, in which case the quickest way to get an FXO product into production would be to rally the troops and have them vote for FXO.
You can see the full list of licensed and team peripherals on our new Razerzone page.

Looks super sick! If only the shipping wasn't so much TT! MVP & Razer GoGo!
Wish i didn't just buy a normal goliathus =(
I have one question for the tech guys that hopefully they can answer:
In your testing of this mousepad, did you find any sensor or manufacturer combinations that produced unwanted tracking errors or found other more optimal combinations (e.g. does the Abyssus experience the ripple issues, or other mice tracking capabilities fluctuate when tracking over the graphics changes, do adns95xx or 98xx mice perform well or is the PCS lowered)?
Wish I was in the market for a mousepad and mouse for that matter but both are still going strong. I think I will be in the market for a keyboard soon and I have a question, is the tournament addition stealth really quiet? My wife gets annoyed by the keyboard when I play. I currently have a lycosa. Anyone know how they compare noise wise?
the OP made me cringe here with the whole teaming being the "most valuable player" which for start isn't even possible. They even managed to include a player who left a while ago in the MVP roster...
the twelve bucks in shipping hurts... but I'm seeing a potential future fan club project prizes in this :D
Looks nice. I would buy it if I wasn't getting the Artisan Hayate already.
Cool product, but the writing could use some work.
" have come together to make mineral harvesting,build-order-queuing and opponent-destroying."
How does one queue a build order?

This.Is.The.Sponsored.Threads.Fucking.Section. Derailing a thread someone pays money for with nothing more than ignorance to the fact it is a sponsored thread is mind boggling, and should be a mandatory temp ban at the least.
Sorry, I just see these stupid comments in almost every thread in this section, just get's on my nerves after awhile.
Awesome to hear teams get a cut of the profits, makes it the product better for everyone.

I'm overdue for a new Razer Goliathus.. and as much as id like to support MVP, it's really not my team to root for. I will wait and see what gems you guys come up with next for my next purchase. thinking about the TL one though. i dunno so many choices. :D
but yea love that you guys are doing this!
edit: do they come in choice of surface? the rougher one or the slippery one? (not sure what the correct terms are for each)

Right now they're only available in whichever model the teams selected. The TeamLiquid mouse mat is a Goliathus Speed Edition (slippery), while the MVP mouse mat is a Goliathus Control Edition (rough). They all come in medium size.
The CLG mat is also a Goliathus Speed.

Ah thanks for the info, guess i won't be getting a TL one since I use the Control Edition.

Anyone know how to ship to other than US or Canada? I can't figure out how. Guess I will be waiting for TL to have them on their store.
I'm very impressed with the feedback given in this thread, it really shows that you're interested.
Once my eXactMat wears down, I will definitely invest in another razer product :D
Still love my Liquid Goliathus.
that loooks soooo sick. I have become more and more of a team MVP fan lately. I love Finale and Tails man those guys are soo much fun to watch. My next mouse pad will be a coin toss between this and the ttesports Prime pad. I just can't decide
This is pretty cool. Would definitely have bought one if I didn't already have the insanely badass Teamliquid one D:

What size is this compared to a standard Goliathus?

It's a medium sized mat. The standard Goliathus Speed/Control editions come in 4 sizes: Small - Medium - Large - Extended

Man, I have to say, Razer..
Australian prices on all of your products are royally fucked. I understand an increase in shipping costs but a whole $10 more on this mousepad in comparison to the US is just ridiculous. And frankly, while I want to support Razer and the various many teams it sponsors, I just can't do it and I won't.
Price: USD$19.99/ EU €19.99 Heck, there's even something wrong with that..
EDIT: So, I just went to checkout the most expensive keyboard you guys have under sale, the DeathStalker Ultimate. Which is priced at US$249.95 to AU$349.95, a whole one hundred dollars more and I didn't even bother to check the shipping costs.
Judging by that ridiculous price even in USD, gaming keyboard enthusiasts would better get what they pay for, considering there are many other highly acclaimed mechanical keyboards on the market that sell for more than half that price.
Do I have to activate this online before I can use it? Regardless I'll probably pick this up soon.
