ChanmanV's Pro Corner is a bi-weekly SC2 show where we bring on very popular and up-and-coming progamers to create a collaborative atmosphere of learning how to become a better SC2 player. The show formats will vary depending on how many guests we have on each show. At the end of each show, we have a viewer Q&A session with the guests via skype call ins. Overall, it's a very laid back show and really just want all of the participants and viewers to have a good time. I plan to have more formats in the future, and Im always looking for more ideas and ways to improve the show. I made this show for you guys so I encourage you to leave me feedback on the TL thread and tell me what you'd like to see. Come check it out some time and hope you guys enjoy it.
1 on 1 coaching (Student/Coach) - We work on a specific matchup and strategy. Students can range from progamers, SC2 personalities, viewers, and myself.
Spotlight Show - We have the guest progamer walk us through 3 compelling replays going over things like their logic, reasoning, and engagements. Also, we will have them play a couple live games where they will again narrate and walk us through their thoughts.
Guest Panel - We'll have multiple guests come on (usually of the same race) and analyze a number of each other's replays. The point of this format is to really get the guests collaborating and hopefully picking up tips from each other to help improve their own play.
Best of 7 - We'll have 2 guests play in a best of 7 series. Unlike a showmatch, I will not be casting, but instead we will follow one of the guests each game and having him talk us through his play. After each game, we will talk to both players individually and get their thoughts and strategy going into the next game. At that point, we will switch vantage points to the other guest and continue.
Pro/Pro Dual Coaching - This format we will have 2 progamers that will take turns playing live games against a practice partner. While one pro plays, the other will be "looking over his shoulder" and making critiques and comments. The focus is for both players to exchange tips and helpfully better each other.
Best of 5 - Replay Analysis - We'll have 2 guests play in a best of 5 series. I will do a casual cast of this typically with another pro. After the series, we will do some replay analysis with the 2 guests on the replays of games in the series. They can walk us through what their strategies were at the time and what was going through their heads.
Great format, having so much focus on the "why" for games is really helpful to see consistently done. I watch a good amount of streams and tournaments, so I get to see the "how" pretty often, but the one thing that I wish I would hear more of is the thinking going on in players' heads. When I play, for whatever reason, I can get into this really bad, kind of tunnel vision, when I don't really "think," I just do. Weird to explain, but having stuff like this is great at reinforcing the need for "thoughtful" play.

at first i thought you were karma whoring on reddit but I'm really glad that you decided to put a bit of extra work to make this something useful for the community and pretty bad ass as well :D glhf !!!

heh I think a lot people on reddit probably thought the same thing. It's all good. ^^ Thanks for the nice words.
I tune in whenever I can and I'm always surprised with how interactive ChanmanV is with the audience. The show is very entertaining and always concludes with a lengthy Q&A, pulling all of the questions from the viewers/chat. If you have ever wanted to ask one of the scheduled coaches anything, this show is where you do it.
Just watched the major tvz episode; so much nice insight in army movement, forcing drops to work, the use of scans, creepremoval as a goal throughout the game. Also watched a bit of the spades/megu episode. The concept was nice but it felt like they weren't rly doing what you wanted them to do; so I'd suggest you do try to make that clearer to your guests (it's your show afterall ^^).
Anyway, gj and looking forward to more terran episodes.

Thanks for the feedback. Next thursday is a terran panel show (RGNSpades/vileHashe) so be sure to check it out.
Welcome to coaches corner, this is Starcraft night in Koprulu Sector
must be alot of hockey fans out there cuz Ive gotten this association before ^^
Ive noticed that TL is crawling with Canucks like me. Hockey is life here.
PS. Guest suggestion; cvgKnighter and AoWNydasHer. Both really epic gamers both with coaching experience.
Yes, definitely. I like me some hockey too. Thanks for the suggestion. Those 2 guys are very good. In fact, AoWnydasHer is actually a very good friend of the show. He's played against a couple of my guests on the show. ^^
The Coaching Corner has the best concept! Everyone should check it out and get others interested. The more viewers, the more likely our favorite players will go on the show. Keep up the good work, ChanmanV. =)

So will sheth be going over specific things? Or will it be more of a generalized session about all three matchups and ways to improve mechanical prowess?
It will be more of a general strategy session since we'll probably go over multiple matchups. But hopefully each game we go over will thoroughly cover that particular strategy in the game. Sheth is awesome so there will be lots o learning.
Episode 12 is tomorrow with guests *drum roll* ... non other than EGINControl and LD.Attero. So excited to have these 2 on. They're both just coming back from Homestory Cup so hopefully we can hear some about it. The plan is a Protoss Panel where both will bring a few replays to discuss. The main goal is to have both of them analyze each other's replay and help each other become better players. Come hang out with us tomorrow at 8pm PST!
Ep 14 Coaching Corner tonight! Our guests are EGMachine and Spades. They will play a Best of 7 and each walk us through their game play and decision making. There's been some news surrounding the players recently so hopefully we can ask them personally some questions pertaining it. View Q&A with the guests at the end so stick around and ask EGMachine and Spades your questions. Come hang out with us and enjoy!
Tonight is Pro Corner's first KoTH night. $100 for ne one that can win 4 in a row and $50 to the match of the night. Im also having each player cast with me when they are next up. Come hang out and call in your questions.
If you want to be big in esport or get anywhere you need to have a personality, which you lack. You should work on being entertaining, humorous and more confident.
Hey, I just started watching the show today and I thought it was amazing. It was fun just having the pros that were not playing commentating on what was good/bad about the play, more analyzing it than casting it. I will definitely tune in whenever I have the time.

Don't want to necessarily get big. Just want to make content that the community can enjoy and learn from. <3

awesome to hear! that is exactly what we were going for. ^^
I just got a chance to watch your show for the first time last night. Loved to hear the pros commentating the games while they waited to participate. I don't know if it is possible to do this more often (given the number of people you need to participate), but that KOTH format was really great to watch. Thanks for your contribution!

Thanks Will! I think everyone involved had a good time last night so I think Ill start doing this once a month.
Whether or not you like him as a caster, Mr Bitter's 12 Weeks With the Pros was IMO by far the best SC2 learning resource out there and since its demise nothing has been comparable..... UNTIL NOW =D

i think it gets the viewers it gets because people want a show like this but it doesnt get the viewers it should get because chanman is not that entertaining as well as imo the questions are not good

Thanks for the feedback. The show and myself as a host are evolving and improving show by show. I totally get that Im not as entertaining as Day9, DJWheat, ,Totalbiscuit, etc., but my main focus and mission of my shows are to spotlight and promote these players whether popular or up and coming. I want them (their play and personalities) and not myself to be the focus of the shows. Let me know what sorts of questions you'd like to hear on the show and Ill make it happen.

Soon I promise, but I have vileIllusion on next week so maybe I can make it more TvP centric. ^^

it doesn't bother me. i'm not looking for another day9 i just want to see the logic behind the good players and their reasoning and this is one of the few shows since bitters to have that aspect.

Im gonna rebroadcast my show today with mTwDimaga/vileHashe at the normal time 8pm PST for those of you who missed it because of work. Check it out and I will have the VOD up for everyone else by tomorrow at

A bit one sided but still lots to learn. Can't tell you how much i love the concept of your show. And don't listen to crap about not been entertaining enough etc.Let the players and their personalities do the job for you.You are there to pace the show as most hosts should do(in this show you are not a caster or an entertainer but a host).Good job in general dude, keep it up!

Change of plans guys for Ep. 17 Pro Corner. vileIllusion had something come up last minute and will not be our guest tomorrow night so instead we have the pleasure of having TD.Attero and Spades on for a Best of 7 show. I know there have been requests for a TvP show so if you ask, you shall receive. ^^ These guys have been on the show before so it should be a fun and eventful time.
We have a Zerg panel this thursday for Ep 18 Pro Corner with guests EG.LZGamer, col.Goswser, and 4KGerbil. If you're having trouble with any of the zerg matchups, this should be a great one to watch since these guys are great players.
On February 02 2012 19:35 ChanmanV wrote: Thanks corsica. Funny you say that ... WhiteRa in a PvZ in 2 weeks but we'll leave who he's playing as a surprise. ^^
Next week is coaching week! Dedicating the 2 shows to really focusing on a specfic strategy and hashing it out. Monday Ep 19 we'll have EG.iNcontrol hashing out a particular strategy with xSixAiluj. Should be a great time!
Ep 19 Pro Corner tonight with EG.iNControl and xSixAiluj. We will be doing a 1 on 1 coaching show format hashing out PvZ with EG.iNcontrol in the coach role and xSixAiluj as the student. There should be a lot of great tips tonight so come check it out at 8pm PST on my stream:
Tomorrow we will be continuing coaching week with Ep 20 - zerg coaching with EG.Machine. He will be walking me through ZvT strategies. It should be a very good time and hopefully lots of learning. Follow me on twitter to get the latest show updates (twitter.com/chanmanv).
Our guest tomorrow night for Ep 21 ChanmanV's Pro Corner will be RGNSlush. We will be doing a zerg spotlight show where RGNSlush will walk us through in-depth analysis of 3 replays. He then will play a few live games and walk us through his play. The last 15 mins will be Q&A with viewers. RGNSlush doesn't stream so it'll be really great to ask him about his strategies and see him play live. Should be a great time!
Im starting to look for some overlays and logos for the show. If any of you artistically talented TLers would love to help me out, Id be really grateful. PM me in TL if you're interested. Thanks!
Guys check this show out. ChanmanV funds this show from his own wallet and has a great passion for SC2. The content is great and is similiar to the content Mr. Bitter produced.
On February 14 2012 07:11 gilden wrote: Can I download an audio version of the show through iTunes? Would love to listen on my commute into work.
Ive been thinking about doing the podcast (mp3) version, but not sure the show would totally work as well as say SoTG. Definitely parts of it would, but the playing and some of the formats would not make sense. Ill keep looking into it though.
This is great, been looking forward to something like this ever since Mr Bitter turned to the dark arts of casting. Best show was your coaching session with Machine where you played and made that lingbanfestorlisk strat work.
Continuing the Zerg craziness on the show, we're having LgN.Aurora on tomorrow to do a zerg walkthrough. She's a really good female zerg player so it'll be great to have her on and show us a few strategies.
Nerchio and Machine on Ep 24 Pro Corner tomorrow afternoon. It's an early show (4pm EST) .. mark it down! We will be doing a new "Pro/pro practice session" format with the 2 of them. They will each take turns playing a ZvP while the other guest kind of looks over his shoulder commenting and critiquing. This will be more like the collaborative feel of the zerg panels but with live play vs replay analysis. Should be awesome!
Going to do a manpacks.com giveaway ($70 value) during the show tonight. I will randomly pick someone from the list of new followers on twitter and people who retweet the show tweet. Tune in to the show for more details.
Ep 27 on Monday 8pm PST with DJWheat and EG.Machine in a Zerg 1 on 1 coaching format. We'll be going over ZvP strategies. Can't even convey how excited I am!
For all the terran fans, it's terran week on pro corner this week! Tomorrow 8pm we have col.QXC and Spades doing some Duel Coaching and then on Thursday 4pm we have EU player aTn.Cloud and possibly Sjow on for some more Terran strategies. What a fun week!
Got FnaticNightEnd and mTw.TT1 going over PvZ tonight but I need high master and low gm zergs to play against them on EU server. The show starts at 5:30pm EST today. Join the chanmanv BN channel if you're interested in playing. Thanks!
Big thanks to Dimaga for an awesome show. I was a bit rusty, but I think there was some good stuff. Q&A was classic too! Ill be rebroadcasting the show for NAers tonight at 11pm EST.
Ep. 33 tomorrow with Empire.Kas doing a terran spotlight show. We will be doing replay analysis on 3 games and then having Kas play some live games. Should be awesome!
