cool thread gl with the barcraft
St. Louis Barcraft is for Barcraft in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. This Barcraft appears to be for Markham (Toronto), Ontario, CA. Title is somewhat misleading, isn't it?

Do you want us to change the title to Toronto Barcraft?
Yeah I thought this was for St. Louis MO...

Me too

Will be there for sure, bringing another person along, too. How many people can the venue hold?
Maybe he's trying to get back at all of us for Canadians being confused about the NASL Finals being in Ontario, CA ;P lol
Hope this event goes well. Nice job with the sponsored threads!
+1 on the St. Louis, MO. Was pumped, then let down. =(

Looks like he is new to TL...
It is confusing. FYI There is already an MLG viewing thread for Toronto. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=270181
This looks like a different place than the regular Toronto one. Personally, I am happy to hear more and more venues accommodating nerd-ballers. Go ESPORTS!
Pretty pissed off that this isn't STL, MO lol
Ah, forgot to add the St Louis one to the reddit sidebars. Sorry to drop the ball guys :/
This sounds pretty cool. I was actually sitting in a st. louis a while back thinking how good I venue like that would be for barcraft if you could tie into all the TVs and sound system.
The topic title is misleading...considering that it's actually the name of the bar, and Bar Crafts are usually associated with a place. I'd strongly suggest changing the name of the title.
looks awesome, but i think you meant barcraft(tm). ;-)
Hmm now IDK if I want to go to this one or the one in victory cafe =/
Awesome GL! Awesome banner
You can't really call this Toronto... If this was in Toronto where I could actually take the TTC to get there, I'd go but Markham is just too far >.>
awww this isn't st. louis...
I'd go if I could take the TTC there...>_> But that's a mission and a half.
this isn't st louis this isn't toronto poor folks :D
Isn't victory cafe on sunday? I'll come on saturday and if it turns out to be good, I'll just come here instead.
This is like, the 3rd MLG Viewing thread for 3 different spots in Toronto.
That's kinda cool there there's that much interest, but part of me thinks its better if we all just stick with the original one at Victory cafe that's been going for several events, and get a bigger crowd in one place as opposed to 3 places.
Hi guys, please support this event as much as you could. I mean we are new to this event. But, we are trying so hard on this one. We want to set up this event later on in other St. Louis Bar and Grill locations. We have 29 locations in Ontario. If this one goes well, I am sure that your guys will see more our locations to hold this E sport event. Lets do this.
If your guys have any question, you can PM me or post in here. Thanks!

The times are really broad. Are you going to be showing all day Saturday? Saturday night straight to sunday?
I'm in London, real close to Toronto. Too bad, have fun though!
Sounds like fun. I would be stoked to go if there wasn't any drinking. But alas thats the point of barcraft, Have fun and be safe
I'll go if I live in Markham
Dammit, i want to go to a barcraft so badly but im too young
nooboon, The one Sunday for Victory Cafe, you can attend that while underage, its more a restaurant than bar so you can still go but just not order alcohol
So this thread is for the St Louis Bar Toronto Barcraft for MLG Orlando in Markham. No room for confusion there.

Is this something being initiated by St. Louis as a restaurant chain, or is it a StarCraft fan or employee who has approached them?
I'll try and come up for the Saturday one, especially if its really an initiative from the restaurant itself, because there's a St Louis about 30 seconds from my Condo, and I'd love if it spread there
I have question so it opens at 11AM on Saturday (oct.15) ?
If we would like to go , what are transportation (TTC) we must take from downtown, or anyone
else go with car that I can join with?

MARKHAM IS NOT TORONTO. PLEASE DO NOT ASSOCIATE MY WONDERFUL CITY WITH YOURSELF. THANKS.

the 3 places may be in the "GTA" but they are far apart.
its clear many people in this thread rely on public transit.
therefore, the Barcraft event at Kipling and Lakeshore near Humber College is still on. and that venue is at minimum 2.5 hours by public transit away from this Markham Barcraft event. and this includes possibly taking 2 forms of public transit and paying 2 fares.
so this event is clearly the best option for any one living in Markham.
for any one who goes to the Lakeshore Humber Campus the Kipling/Lakeshore CyberWizz event is clearly the best option... they can walk to it... and stagger home drunk.
whenever there is competition it is the consumer that wins.
the Barcraft Event at Kipling and Lakeshore will have cheaper booze than either of these other 2 places.

Too bad i live in london during the year otherwise i'd totally be down

2 hours minimum?.. Are you traveling by horse buggy?
Even public transit can (and has gotten me) get you from Markham to Kip/Lakeshore in like 1.5... Taxi/driving in less than an hour (assuming not between 4 and 6pm... Kuz the dvp is hell (Toronto actually now has the worst traffic in the world).
But anyway, might check out the locations before hand... I'd prefer the location that is the most "bar-like" type of atmosphere.

Dead Wrong.
Read the TTC Schedule for Sunday.... not the Monday to Friday Rush Hour Schedule.
How do you propose to get from WARDEN and HWY7 to either the DON MILLS Subway Station OR FINCH Subway on SUNDAY?
How often have you taken public transit north of Steeles? It is a dead zone.
How do you propose to get from the Subway station to Lakeshore road ON SUNDAY?
M-F during rush hour it takes a minimum of 20 minutes .. but to get from Islington OR Kipling Station to Lakeshore Road.... IS 30-45 MINUTES ALL BY ITSELF ON SUNDAY because the bus to lakeshore arrives once every 20 MINUTES.
What you gonna take the StreetCar? which basically goes as fast as a horse and buggy?
So don't hand me this crap that a Humber College Student can pop up to Markham like its nothing. when all they have to do is walk to the place at Kipling and Lakeshore for a total cost of ZERO.
to any one who lives in south etobicoke.... good luck trying to get any where north of Steeles on Sunday via public transit.

So what do people do if they have no friends that actually enjoy SC2? I like it, but no one seems to share my addictions =(
Drinking alone sounds very "fun".

Well, that's exactly what these events are for. I don't know anyone else that plays or watches SC2, so I just started going to these events. 5 minutes after I got to the first one, people were asking me what race I played, who my favourite player was etc... I stayed drinking with some guys after one event, and basically now I do know a bunch of people.
A lot of people just come alone

No need for any other toronto events... The viewing happening at the victory cafe (on markham ROAD in toronto not in markham) has the ORIGINAL and best t.o. SC2 crowd.

It's always nice to have more events. There's no harm to it. Competition is always good especially since the last barcraft at victory cafe was way too packed. I didn't even get a chance to watch the games.

Were getting multiple screens this time and a room on the first floor. Should have alot more room for people. I like the sports bar aspect (assuming you can use all the screens) but I think the liberty has a big advantage of being so central. Also the guys running it (chromate, galleon, et al) have quite a bit of experience running these things and are always trying to improve them.
edit: Don't get me wrong tho, im all for this. The more events we have in toronto the more attention we'll bring barcraft.

Also, the GTA is giant geographical area with horrific public transit. So if someone wants to set up a Barcraft event... all the more power to 'em.
the other Barcraft at Kipling and Lakeshore is a good option for those without a car who live near the lake.. and are on the Queen Street Car line.

So true, no one in Toronto (because Markhan is not Toronto) will go outside their city when there are 2 other events going on. Good luck I guess but I don't see why anyone would travel up there for mediocre wings and hang out with 7 other people.
Guys, GUYS. More barcraft is good barcraft. I'm also not going to travel all that way when Victory Cafe is a 20 minute walk away from me, but people who live in the outskirts generally have cars and/or are used to taking a few extra cab rides to accommodate their homes in the middle of nowhere. There will probably be more than 7 people and it will probably be a great time! Let's all enjoy our respective barcrafts. Nobody's taking us seriously anyway, we're Canadians.
Wait, is BarCraft St.Louis still going on? Just making sure
Guys seriously, wtf is with the animosity?? I live in Richmond Hill and this is RIDICULOUSLY easier for me to get to than Victory Cafe. Also, I used to live in Toronto and commute to Leslie/Hwy7 daily and it wasn't as bad as a lot of you people are making it out to seem. If it is too much for you, then yeah, just go to the barcraft more convenient, but there's no need to rage at the people organizing this one... I definitely think I'll be checking this out for lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and look forward to seeing others there...
indeed, i've all ways though of going to Victory Cafe, but from McCowan and Steeles is a little far to go when at any time i could be called back by the wife.
Also FREE PARKING always a plus ♥.
What is the timing for this? All day whole event?
I'll definitely go to this one. I don't live in the city and I'd have to pay for parking the whole day if I have to go to the one in downtown. Thank you so much for opening up another venue for people outside of downtown!

Same, I've wanted to go for a while but Steeles/Markham is just a tad far to be taking a bus to the Victory one from lol. I actually might check this one out if I can figure out the busses
This is awesome Langer, thanks for doing it. Forget all the hate here about "we already have one". I for one, live way up north in Newmarket, and going all the way downtown is a pain for me. Im glad to see this one in Markham!
And all you TTC users who are stating its hard to get there, you can take the York Region Transit, Viva bus, which runs straight along Highway 7. Easy peasy, leaves every 15 minutes! Bring your $2.75 lol.
Ill be there Langer! Thanks for hosting such an awesome event, itll be my first Barcraft!
Victory Cafe FTW Hope to see you guys there!
really GohgamX..... i tough we agreed that more is better and it's not a completion between Victory and St.Louis.
hope to see people out watching some F'ing Starcraft!
Yo I'm so down to watch the finals. I have 2 mid-terms next week but I think I can spare a few hours to watch some starcraft. AWESOME location btw, it's really close to me and I heard this place has some of the best wings in Toronto.

First of all...
Everybody knows about the victory cafe thread. Stop posting it in somebody else's thread. In fact it should be a reportable offense. This is supposed to be a positive thing. Not a mass mentality mudsling where a bunch of simple minded Neanderthals are bashing each other.
Second
I drive, and yes I live much closer to this then I do downtown.
Third.
Victory cafe gets packed and is hot. I enjoyed going but this is a great alternative. I have a busy weekend this week. But if I can stop by and stuff my face full of wings at a place that arguably has a nicer venue. (maybe not as many screens or tvs) Then ill do it.
The best part about this is TORONTO BARCRAFT (in Markham) going to try to attend this sounds like a good deal
So even if not many people show up, they'll be a big screen to watch (or a decent number of screens)? I'm making a trip to go all the way up to markham, so i hope it'll be worth it.
Saturday is >>> than Sunday for drinking.
Will you show games on Friday?
Edit: I kind of want to know soon as I may come tonight if you're showing games.
I hope to make it to this with some of my RH friends sometime Saturday, and for sure Sunday. I'm from Mississauga but I avoid DT in my car like the plague. And since my friends all live in RH, this makes it very convenient for me to make it to a Barcraft.
Hope to make it and help make this a success for St Luis!
I'm gonna come by here on saturday, and if I like it, I might just go here on sunday instead of victory cafe.
I'll be there in around an hour :D

Not a lot of us right now. However, I'd expect it to pick up later this evening/afternoon. There is a section reserved for barcrafters, with tables for around 30 people.
According to the owner, they are just testing the idea out but for providence they may have up to 5 locations running a barcraft around the GTA. So come out and support them!

Around 12 people right now, give or take. It's starting to pick up and there is still lots of seats. :D
Food here is better than victory cafe. Definitely coming here tommorow as well.
I'll be there in about an hour.
What's the set up like?

Coming tomorrow with two or three friends, it's gonna be greaat How big is the screen btw.. pic makes it seem kinda small and this had better be somewhat of a step up from me streaming mlg onto my 60" TV at home lol
The screen is definitely larger than 60inch. they have access to beta streams as well. The owner here is a bro.
I wish I had a way there tonight!
Sucks I couldn't stay for longer tonight =/ I'll be there tomorrow though :D
Any chance of grabbing a ride from some one tomorrow at Batherst and Steels. Could by first round of through some cash for gas money
amazingly i have some how convinced my GF to come. If anyone needs a ride from B and S or in between to there PM me
The wings and ribs are great eating. Glad I decided to show up.
I got free beer there! And holy crap the dessert is amazing. There's also a speaker in the washroom too, so you won't miss much of the game when you're taking a leak.
The only problem I had was that the hockey game was up so it took over most of the time (sound wise) and was a bit hard to get into sc2 with the hockey game going on (not that I really had a problem)
Gonna try my best to make it there today

Ya, that's because people were constantly harassing the staff to switch the sound to the hockey game. One of the tables was even requesting that the SC2 be switched to one of the small TVs so that the Leafs could be shown on the large screen. I think they ended up leaving after drinking a few waters :p

Around what time are people actually showing up?

Had a great time! Nice setup, great food, sick prizes. Only problem is, Loud Group + Low Volume = Me not hearing anything at all from the stream. + My friend won a mousepad. always good.
Will be back for whenever this happens again.
Thanks!
thanks to the host for this event. ive been to the gsl theatre, gsl/mlgs at victory and now to this event. atmosphere and food was great. like person above me said, volume needed to be a bit higher but the group i was with were taking the time to talk and have discussions about stuff so it worked out.
i won a mousepad will def be coming to the next event, (with a GG button as well)
thanks again!
I had a great time, and will for sure be going again to the next event. Thanks for an awesome event!
Is there going to be an event for GSL finals or blizzcon coming up this week?
i brought my GG button on Sat, couldn't hear it but still fun
it was good times, the owner was great, but it was true that the volume was low.
Anything happening this weekend for Blizzcon/GSL?
Sorry, we are not gonna host Blizzcon and GSL.
Is there anything planned for the near future?
Looks like it was a fun event. Hope the owners that put it together will keep supporting the esport community in the future.
Sounds like it was more trouble then it was worth... cant really expect to make money after one event though.... shame.
And people walking out was pretty bad... I tipped almost 10 bucks though. I wanted to see another one.

Pretty sure everyone knows, but I can walk to St. Louis B&G so whatever.
I wasn't trying to detract from the ST. Louis one, just figured I'd make sure they are cross posted. With 3 of them in the GTA it should make a Barcraft accessible to almost everyone around.
