Contest Rules
You must design an original poster featuring the following:
- An unaltered Intel logo
- An unaltered Blizzard logo
- One or more of these unaltered text mentions:
- Get in the Game Faster
- Intel® Solid-State Drives
- Speed Demon
Entries featuring modification, distortion, destruction, defaming or devaluing of the Intel or Blizzard logos will be disqualified. Entries with any alteration of original color, texture or adjustment of any kind to these logos will be disqualified. Inappropriate (sexist, racist, etc) entries will be disqualified and removed.
Entries with profanity cannot be selected as a winner. Example: "Hell, it's about time" is not acceptable. However, self-censorship "Heck, it's about time" or just removing the profane word "It's about time" are fine.
Winners are responsible for their own transportation to BlizzCon 2010, held at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. All winning submissions become the property of Quango Inc.

Design your poster and submit it in this thread. You may enter more than once. The contest will close on Saturday, Oct 16 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) and winners will be notified as soon as possible. We've included some logos below to help you get started.

I would assume 18"x24", this is standard poster size for an indoor poster normally. Most indoor ones are this size. 300dpi for print jobs, although on backgrounds and stuff you can usually get away with a little less, but I wouldn't recommend it for the text. Yes, the file will be huge. I recommend working with a low rez proxy and then putting the high rez version in the final version.
As far as uploading it, just save it as a smaller jpeg or png, and if you win you can deliver the high rez file =]

Are we trying to photoshop/make a poster that include intel or blizzard logo on our poster and the one with the most creative or unique one will win? sorry i dont really understand the rule as much since it is so vague

correct. im guessing because its such a big corporate company.. you wouldn't want to include any other logos in the poster ( as in if you are taking a photo (for some unknown reason)... don't include a coke can in it...or a keyboard.. don't include the logo on the keyboard.. Photoshop it out)

No minimum requirements, but keep in mind that this will be a poster, so the higher resolution the better.

K, I spent about 3 hours piecing this together and figuring out why my layers weren't sticking properly- but I am quite pleased with the end result! here is the 72 dpi version scaled down quite a bit...

edit2: Aw, I just noticed it's too small to realize that the computer with the SSD has a DVORAK keyboard while the other has a QWERTY...
edit: if the last frame DQ's me, I can edit it out of the final... I figured anyone seeing these would get the references anyway, though- which makes the 'comic format' even more appropriate.

The first serious entry. Idea & execution is awesome. I'd vote for this one.
The only minor issue I have with it is that the "FASTER" and the "Intel Solid-State Drives" is on the right half of the poster which is supposed to be the slower one.

Sadly any professional design project will always give you logos that can't be altered. Most of the time they give you set sizes as well although there are more than one choice.
Companies like Coke have strict guidelines where you can place most of the items .

Fun concept. I think you should be consequent with the blur on the right side. Perhaps move the "solid state" and "faster" text to the left side and blur out everything else. GL!

1) of course. they're not going to require you to use a lower quality logo lol
2) if you win, it becomes the property of them. so, you can use them to display your work but you can't market them in any way. none of us have signed a non-disclosure or non-compete agreement =]
actually, they havent posted any legal terms so its pretty wide open in our favor.

It was removed because despite "Hell, it's about time" being a Blizzard slogan, the organizers said any profanity is not allowed. They did say that "Heck, it's about time" or "It's about time" are completely fine though, and we PM'd the creator of the poster to let him know how to re-submit.
We will let the "Hell, it's about time" posters stay viewable in the thread, but they cannot be selected as a winner unless the artist resubmits with an acceptable (non-profane) version.

The "intel speed demon" represents the SSD. According to intel, the speed demon SSD is faster by 47% versus a 10,000 RPM HDD. so, the information should be accurate.

Artwork itself is pretty sweet but my comment is you should make the text stand out more.
I don't mean "unleash your inner speed demon" but the rest of text
My take would be to add more colours to the artwork and then change the colour of text so it kind of would be more "on" art.
Maybe move "intel x25-m solid-state (...)" line a bit down?

Edit: was kinna easy to theme this one with Diablo3 coming out and the "speed demon" quote.

Holy 。。。this is what I called a "serious" entry ... amazing 3D work ! Now the prize pool is changed to "five tickets to BlizzCon 2010 " (no offense to above great works)
Though I personally don't think it matters (similarly why I assume viewer knows what are stim packs), you can always make a alternative entry, changing the text to "speed demon technology" , just for safe.

You're right ... i was wondering why nobody did notice ... i submitted because of joy and if i win which iam not taking for granted, i will offer the ticket to someone else of this awesome community for sure ... i would like to go there myself ofcourse but since i can't i wont deny anyone the opportunity to do so ... but well let's talk about those things when the decisions are made ... i did not say it the beginning because i thought that this could maybe lower my winning chances but after all if i SHOULD win a ticket, i guess i am free to do with it what ever i want am i right?
