First, a new Display Board that was built by and painted by my beautiful, wonderful fiancee. I told her what I kind of wanted it to look like, she made this amazing piece in a couple hours with a corkboard and some leftover paint and snow flock. Here are my Canoptek Wraiths. I had a lot of fun on the conversion ones, and they're quite awesome on the tabletop. Night Scythes/Doom Scythes. Flyers used to be the bane of the game, now they're a bit more balanced. People still sigh in frustration if you put 3 of them down on the board, though. The bases were the first time I put anything other than paint and flock on something, even if it was really simple. These are my Lychguard with Hyperphase Swords and Dispersion Shields. I love these guys aesthetically, and in game they're quite effective. Bloody impossible to kill most of the time, which is why I love Necrons. Normally, they run side by side with Orikan the Diviner. I really like this model, one of my favorite special character sculpts. Just a crazy Cryptek with his staff, gives a sense of the millenia-old insanity. And last but not least in this update we have Varguard Obyron. Bodyguard to Nemesor Zahndrekh, who I showed off a bit in the last thread. Another awesome special character, cool sculpt with a simple, yet intimidating, pose. Really liked working on Obyron, think he turned out ok too.

Mostly whenever a tourney is coming up I jam in painting time whenever I have my hands free, like watching TV or before bed. Having monthly events and writing up different lists with different models encourages me to paint at least something every few weeks.

edit: it was really legit. Maybe not as good as brooklyn, but still really really good.

Maybe not as good as brooklyn, but still really really good. It was really good. Although recently I've dropped main roster stuff completely, so I'm comparing it to indies and it's not as impressive when compared to something like PWG shows. Still, Gable and Jordan are fucking great, Kana is great, Joe and Balor are great, Sasha is one of company's best talents (man or woman) at fucking 23 years old. Nothing to be cynical about.

But that includes my Obelisk, which I'm really excited to finish up. It's not really that great on the tabletop, but it's a great centerpiece model.

I liked the recent jon Oliver video. More people need to know the statistic that mentally ill people are less likely to be violent towards others than the rest of the population.

Well when the population of mentally ill people is significantly lower than those who are not then... Yeah... "Statistics" are always bull shit.

It was a drunken dispute gone bad! but becuase 18yo kids have easy access to murder weapons it resulted in a casualty. Like some kid who just started university is getting buried. I think most children who go on "rampage shootings" (which this wasn't) have mental problems that are not being addressed properly. mental health is obviously not being taken care of as well as it should/could be. I don't think people with mental problems are more likely to be violent or w.e.
