I guess it was kinda predictable, mcgregor gets gassed like round 6-7, then fucking murdered. So much hugging, backtakes and rabbit punches though. Is that normal in boxing or is that what happens when MMA meets box?
the back takes i think is very rare. a combination of conors circling/wrestling instincts plus floyd tends to turn his back as a clever exploitation of the rules where back hits are illegal
rabbit punches are just mcgreogrs mma instincts to hammer fist when someone ducks that low
clinches super common from mayweather, uses it to avoid any bad situation and to take deep breaths and reset basically they are illegal but referee can do 2 things 1: Reset instantly - benefits the outboxer who can then continue to punish-->clinch every time infighter closes. (Mayweather is almost always the outboxer, in this fight he was oddly out reached and didn't want to play a boring counter punching game against a shitter) 2: Let it go on: Gives time for infighter to break out and maintain the inside distance or do some damage, but also if he can't get out lets the outboxer rest and makes the fight boring
basically unless refs start deducting points for excessive clinching, which they never do, boxing is plagued with clinching from any smart outboxer, Ali started this against Frazier after he got rekt the first fight from the constant pressure.
interestingly mayweather did that thing again where he figures out the opponent and just counters them. mcgregor with long arms has no sense for infighting where you can't use hammer fists or elbows so he just covers up and walks him down forcing mcgregor to work hard to make the distance for his favourite jabs/counter punching with footwork after already overworking himself in the early rounds.
mcgregor thinks he's ali/prince naseem and refuses to put his hands up despite not taking the precautions people like ali did i.e careful pacing when fighting like that because getting gassed = you have to play defensive with guard or you're fucked.
also ali started using his guard much more heavily when he got older and against fighters who can pressure well. Everyone looks at the Cleveland williams/Liston fights to assume he was a boxing god who can just use footwork to get out of everything but people forget they were both insane power punchers who as a result would tire more easily and weren't used to taking punches as opposed to someone like Frazier and other guys with insane toughness.
I think the back turning shtick is pretty lame. Like... Basically you're saying you can fight and running behind the ref to spoil the other guys momentum. In the first 3 rounds there were times where mayweather looked kinda rattled from some shots, then managed to turn and stall for 30s to regain his bearings. I think that should be a major point deduction.
If McGregor did the same thing fight maybe goes the distance. Although he was gassed as fuck.
At the same time though, I'm not a huge boxing guy.
You can tell McGregor not a huge boxing guy either, His hand position was ideal for defending kicks... don't think Mayweather was throwing a kick. Lol.

This fight was the equivalent of a WC3 player playing BW against Flash, who is just going to turtle until 200/200 mech.

Is the 1080x2 really that big of an upgrade over a single 1080 TI? That and the 1TB ssd are the only real question marks I see here if I'm being honest.

Should've gone i9 for the true memes
16GB of ram is a lot.
Eh. That's like 4 tabs open on chrome for 8 hrs.
And if he's getting 2x 1080s then I could see his 4k gaming using like 10 gigs. I'd prolly go with a single 1080ti tho; sli is a pain in the dick.

The double 1080 might be straight overkill, but I've never done double, so I'm tempted. I don't have a VR rig, but think it'd be real tight to get one. Would a single 1080i suffice for that?

I mean the entire 1000 generation was designed for VR(1030 probably only low resolution though?); I don't know the comparison of the twin 1080 vs 1080TI but I know the TI's are absolute beast cards on their own.

Use shitty browsers, win shitty prizes.
I can't argue with that, but I also wont change browsers. RAM is cheap.
