I can't wait until the US government defaults on its debt and the rest of the world switches to the gold standard in response. At which point I will crucify you on a cross of gold while asking "WHERE'S YOUR GOD NOW TOLKIEN??" r u ron paul? honestly i'd rather ron paul than ted cruz, who most recently mentioned that the first amendment was all about keeping government out of religion, not religion out of government. and that we need to establish a Christianity based law system. nothing against Christianity, but theocracy is not for me. Ron Paul pushed for
1) A more or less complete withdrawal from foreign affairs for the US 2) Gold Standard and the complete destruction of the US/world monetary system and embracing an economic theory which has long been discarded by "mainstream" economists + Show Spoiler + (even the premier Austrian universities like GMU are being decimated, and there are presently like...less than 20 I think? with an Austrian plurality of economic faculty; last I checked with one of those rare econ grad students who was specializing in Austrian economics) 3) FK DA (federal) GUMMINT, FK DA MAN
I, as an unrepentant statist and a fervent internationalist cannot in good conscience support any of that shit.
Also Cheep, don't think I didn't notice the irony of the cross of gold: I was writing on my fone so I wasn't going to comment.

Yeah i know ron paul would be bad news. but at least he's semi-educated. he's spent a lot of time doing politics stuff since that education so most of his info is old and out of date. but ted cruz literally doesn't know the constitution he would be swearing to uphold.

Part of that is he's Texan, and he needs to do Texan things in order to survive Texan politics. Also Republican primaries, man.
Texas.
+ Show Spoiler +He's also a chronic liar with no actual moral conscience, so he's probably spouting all this purely for political gain as opposed to any personal opinions of his

In regards to the spoiler. How is that different to the vast majority of politicians? They say what they need to say in order to get elected then bend over and take it up the bum by whoever has the most money.

I see so the guy can't even keep his own lies in check. How is he even a politician then? I thought to be a politician you have to be good at lying or speaking in incomplete truths.

People just latch on to the ideology or principle. Cruz is a keep the government out of your business (taxes, guns, legislation in general) and it's very easy for people to get behind "the government sucks" when really he's not promising anything different or better. I know quite a few people close to me that would probably vote for him... :\

Man, I actually had a really awesome weekend. I'll admit, I've been feeling a bit depressed lately, but the past few days have really helped.
Spent time with family, played ultimate frisbee with my high school frisbee team (my sister is playing on it even though she's in 8th grade, and my 9 year old brother has done a couple practices with them - he can throw better than the VAST majority of people I know), ate some delicious food, saw some friends, did karaoke for the first time, played D&D, and now I get to chill and not go to work.
All in all, A+ weekend

When summer split (second liquibet season) rolls around around hopefully all the kinks will be worked out and the prizes will be even more exciting! http://www.liquidlegends.net/forum/shopkeepers-inn/482088-liquid-legends-announcing-liquibets?page=3#41

Symphony was great - I'm not going to dispute that - but I liked the newer Castlevanias (Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin) more. The Lords of Shadow Castlevania games are my favorite Castlevania games no questions asked.
The Last of Us is easily a 9/10, probably a little higher.

So in Hearthstone news I got to complete the first wing of BRM. The normals were rollovers and the heroics were challenging. I thought each of the fights was novel and created a lot of high and low moments for me, which I think is what Blizz is going for. Case in point, I'm telling you all a story from my adventure with this image, my family thought I was crazy I was giggling so much: + Show Spoiler +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/2dM5PaR.png) This was about a 1/12 chance iirc
@cheep well how about that, thanks for the heads up, I probably wouldn't have revisited the thread.

Dam this is the only time I've ever been 1st in Liquibet and now i find out it doesn't even matter. My life is ruined.

I played like an hour of Last of Us, got bored, gave the copy of it I was borrowing back to my friend, and called the game boring as fuck (I didn't really give it or Uncharted a chance to be fair).
Like 1 year after that, I finally watched a complete cutscene-only (no gameplay) of Last of Us, and thought it was one of the greatest gaming videos/cutscenes I've ever witnessed.
