Poutine is probably the most popular, though, it's the only one I've heard other people reference until someone linked me Gintlemen's Club. Man I let that tea infuse too long, gotta eat something 'cause that won't go well in an empty belly. Megatokyo ran pretty deep in the visual novel stuff, but I don't mind it because it's very deliberate, and it's also a pretext for the author to explore a bunch of tropes. I'm an easy audience so I could even read it at face value I think, the reason I genuinely enjoy it though is how meta it goes. The parts that addressed the relation between characters and the audience (and implied how it appropriates them into its own things, progressively moving them from the author to it), or treaded around Miho's nature and what draws people to her are some I particularly liked. Going to the forums and reading a bit on more committed readers' interpretations was like opening a new drawer into the comic for me, "oh hey there are all these layers, it's great to read these posts, but also to look at them the way they themselves look at the in-comic audiences". It's already been established how overly rational and intellectualising I am, well. Soniv if you stop playing Heroes you don't have to anymore. | ||
