Twisted Fate is a man of gambling. However, he's a reckless gambler and doesn't really plan ahead that we've seen(See: Graves). He'd be very good at getting out of the situation because of his unnatural luck but I doubt seriously he knew it was all going to be fine going into a relationship with Eve.
