Like, the namesake. "Lineage" was a poor word choice. If my great great grandfather had named his son Joseph, they would have been Joseph Carlson Sr./Jr. He did not, but then my great grandfather named his son (my grandpa) Joe II, and the namesake continues.

Joe "salty as fuck" Carlson IV Gotcha covered Alias != Middle Name and I thought it was Saltiv. Its not Saltiv because "SonIV" has already been used in the name. I'm giving you a new middle name.
Ur welcome buddy

So, Soniv is Carl, uh. Well I'm not sure that even with PX's "tip" he'll be able to work much magic on girls.

SMASH AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT? I think I will. probably not tonight, but potentially tomorrow night and definitely this weekend Clearly it's Joseph IV Carlson. Quite a middle name.
You can put as many surnames as you want here in France, and technically you're allowed to use any one of these iirc (they've got to be ordered for the administration though), but noone ever uses them (I don't even know if a lot of people have more than one these last few years) so it's just first name / family name. My 2 other surnames are the masculine versions of my grandmothers' first names, and one of them is typically French.

I have a friend with 7 middle names, shit exists

I've never really understood naming your son the same as yourself. WTF couldn't you think of anything else.

I fully intend on naming my first son Joseph 5
edit: lol, correct Coma

I am going to name my son Scip because when they ask I can't point to this thread.
Also Plat again feels mediocre, I fucking suck at this game but other people suck more.

Why name him joseph when you can name him after Daniel
|
My dad stopped me from being the 6th generation of Daniel.
More than likely my son will be named Daniel.

And that's what I get for not reading the rest of the conversation before posting.
Lol at people just realizing your name; I could swear this pops up every few months on GD. Also to coma, yes that's why I always call him son 4
Also what was that talk about naming kids after me? I mean I'm flattered and all but...

Yeah, it definitely comes up fairly regularly. *shrug* I like being a IV, adds a bit of uniqueness and people always seem interested/baffled.

Odin Shelks the 14th. No literally that's my name on official documents.

This may be silly, but I was having a conversation with my mother today and I think it really finally hit me that my impending move will be the first time I'm more than an hour from my parents long term in my entire life. I've been 'on my own' since college, but I went to school ~45 mins away, then moved back really close(~10mins), and while I'll still be in the same state, it's close to a 5 hour drive, so no longer a distance I can cover literally anytime I feel I want to visit.
I'm not 'worried,' but despite my age it's still something that's going to hit the feels.
