No more Wolf or Lucas. Ice Climbers are likely out or DLC. DUCK HUNT DOG PSUDO CONFIRMED?! Ganondorf is in, but is still a clone. link plox http://www.reddit.com/r/smashbros/comments/2eizub/i_heard_you_like_leaks/ This still doesn't explain what a Shulk is.

I find their inflexibility frustrating. It makes me want to stab them. It's not exclusive to just lawful good Paladins, but also the variants of the other 3 extreme alignments as well. Fundamentally, the idea of a character who's bound to a particular ideology so tightly that they lose all their power for even straying slightly from it creates a weird standoff between player and DM where the player plays their character as close to the book as possible for fear of the consequences of doing otherwise, and the DM therefore has trouble trying to motivate the party through objectives that aren't in line with that character's extreme alignment due to the player not wanting to be take that risk. There are a lot of complex plotlines that you end up being unable to use because the Paladin's answer has to be "I can't because my god says no". This is why alignment systems suck, for the most part. We only ever loosely hold on to them in our games, because forcing someone to make the stupidest decision possible because it says CG/LG/LN/NE on their paper is one of the worst things to do in a game.

With any other character it's fine because alignment is malleable. The way adventures change a person's way of thinking and their corresponding shift across alignments is a way to develop the character. The Paladin is a unique character in this regard because in effect he's contractually bound to his alignment by his deity, and while a Paladin's fall is an interesting point of character development just as any other character's, the resulting loss of character abilities makes the player reluctant to follow through on these possibilities.

holy shit you guys shit post, there were 420 unread posts from this weekend i just went through (lol blaze it) had to give up on alarics qqs even though i usually read them. battle grounds Detroit was a fucking blast, my gf got me free player pass so i could rub elbows with the pros and get free redbull and good seats. got to play wii, drink, eat, gamble, and generally chat with lots of pros and personalities making this my best esports experience ever. The pros are generally so nice to everyone who is not a starstruck fan and I got to chat with some people i had to act pretty hard to not be starstruck :3 stayed in the casino chatting too late last night and didn't get home till 430am after a 3.5hr drive and woke up at 8, lucky i have all this stolen redbull to keep me awake and my urine a bright shiny gold /brag
WOOHOO FRUDGEY I HAD #FAITH CUDDLY CANADIAN GETTING THE W!+ Show Spoiler +

Probably go to Toronto area for attractions, which is where I am :3 What's there? Its the biggest city in canada, there is a pretty big amusement park; wonderland, the CN tower, center island, exhibition place and the CNE if you come in august, the royal ontario museum, ontario science center, it's the canadian hub for theatre and music and all the the sports places if you are into that. Its also pretty close to niagra which is like the only other destination candidate for you imo. So you can go see the falls on your way out or in, the niagra region is nice if you like wine and casinos. i would highlight the science center as a really fun afternoon of interactive neatness! also visit me.

Sorry ComaDose but he is visiting me instead

Puppey no longer on Navi....
I don't even want to play this game anymore.

The science centre is actually a lot shittier than I remembered it when I went a few years ago I don't think it was looking at it from an adult's eyes either. Also CN tower is ok and as a tourist I suppose it's one of those things you gotta see, but there's not a lot to do there.
Exhibition is awesome, go see the falls (there's a bunch of stuff to do around there too), ROM is awesome. If you're into art you could go to the AGO as well.
Downtown Toronto in the summer if you're feeling adventurous has lots of great bars/clubs (although you ARE Req so I doubt this) and other random things you can do off the street, Yonge/Dundas square has some cool stuff to see and sometimes there are free concerts.
North of the city (closer to me) you have Canada's Wonderland which is super fun. Also if you like/need to go shopping there's a bunch of big malls all over the city; Yorkdale, Eaton's Centre, Vaughan Mills.
And no, he's visiting me and the guy.

So I have a question for old Magic players.
Since legendaries are generally considered somewhat more efficient for their cost, at some point when we reach enough cards(to have 20+ cohesive legendaries) in hearthstone will decks evolve into almost all legendaries/epics?
or does magic not really have anything that you could take as an example of this?

Unsure. Legendaries definately seem to have their cost budget much higher on the design end, but tend to be well within the bounds of acceptable ranges. It just depends on the mechanics of the cards coming as usually these are the ones that build decks.
Zoo at the moment is good because hearthstone has NUMEROUS low costed efficient creatures. Things like ramp druid work because they are able to power out cards much earlier and there big creatures are once again incredibly efficent for their costs. Even at 7 mana Ancient of Lore is a damn good card and I would play 2 or 3 of them if you just ported it over to magic.
Rogue works right now because Combo is Combo. You draw a lot of cards and play a lot of cards.
It's a possiblity that it could happen, but I think blizzard could also start limiting which cards can be on ladder ect. once they reach that point.

Canadians please, don't fight over me. We're still deciding what we want to do for the trip, Toronto is just one possibility (though I'm trying to push it because it seems fun).

You are now officially my favourite pen poster.
Also for the whole morality in D&D, I really struggle with it. It's not that I think it is a bad system per say, but my problem is that I've taken one too many philosophy courses so I see almost everything in greyscale. In real life, I think that the concepts of "good" and "evil" are very subjective and vary from person to person. However, my understanding is that D&D doesn't quite work like that. So I've struggling with the fact that in D&D "good" and "evil" just are, and they're not subjective.
And I understand that D&D probably works like that for the sake of simplicity, but part of me wishes that morality system wasn't so black and white. Of course, this probably varies from DM to DM (About the whole morality/alignment system) but I DM is a pretty big stickler about making sure that good is "good" and evil is "evil", if you guys know what I mean.
Also Happy Monday everyone! Soniv, do you still hate Mondays more than Tuesdays? Or are you a changed man? Because from what I recall, last week you seemed to like the Tuesday less than the Monday!

Also you guys should play some Netrunner with me! You can try it out on OCTGN for free, I'll even tutorial you through the game and the OCTGN interface on Teamspeak or Skype.

No, Mondays still suck. This monday is not particularly bad, so that means the rest of the week should be great!
@Canadians - I still want to come up to Toronto at some point, but it likely won't be until or later than the last week of October. I still have to take my mandatory 1 week lock out, but things are real crazy at work until our current project finishes, so I won't be taking any meaningful time off between now and then.
|
Netrunner also doesn't have even half the buy-in cost of Magic. no random boosters, you know exactly what's in each box, and it's always full playsets. (with the small exception of the core set, but unless you're going to tournaments or want to make your friends hate you you don't actually need 3xSanSan and 3xSiphon). Oh and another great thing is because there are completely separate Corporation and Runner cards, you can always make a Corp and a Runner deck and get someone to play with you!
