or does magic not really have anything that you could take as an example of this? Unsure. Legendaries definately seem to have their cost budget much higher on the design end, but tend to be well within the bounds of acceptable ranges. It just depends on the mechanics of the cards coming as usually these are the ones that build decks. Zoo at the moment is good because hearthstone has NUMEROUS low costed efficient creatures. Things like ramp druid work because they are able to power out cards much earlier and there big creatures are once again incredibly efficent for their costs. Even at 7 mana Ancient of Lore is a damn good card and I would play 2 or 3 of them if you just ported it over to magic. Rogue works right now because Combo is Combo. You draw a lot of cards and play a lot of cards. It's a possiblity that it could happen, but I think blizzard could also start limiting which cards can be on ladder ect. once they reach that point. Rarity in Hearthstone is primarily a gating/balance mechanism for cards in Limited anyway, even more so than in Magic due to the lack of a secondary market.
Look at Naxx--they can put a moderate-to-high cost on cards independent of their rarity because the cards provided are fixed. Which means they can use the higher rarities as Limited balance tools (which they should be).

Unless they start specifically scaling legendaries to more early game focus I don't think we'll see that. As it stands it's only slow decks that tend to have a ton of legendaries(Outside of Rogue).

(with the small exception of the core set, but unless you're going to tournaments or want to make your friends hate you you don't actually need 3xSanSan and 3xSiphon). Oh and another great thing is because there are completely separate Corporation and Runner cards, you can always make a Corp and a Runner deck and get someone to play with you!
~end shameless advertising~ I have the core Netrunner set but haven't found someone to play with. Also I kinda understand the rules from reading them but I feel like trying to explain them will be hard.

well if the 3rd installment of cards has 100+ as suggested by the most recent interview, anything could happen.

In mana to value.

I love highmane =D Way too much value.
Not sure how I feel about this, but hopefully it will resolve a lot of the concerns about YouTube copyright system being integrated into Twitch?

Welp. I'm back guys, after long ban.
Would like to apologize for those who thought my comment was antisemitic, my intent was more towards anti-nationalism/anti-religious. I would have prefaced my statement with a comparison with the atrocities that came along with manifest destiny, and how people always find an excuse, or a way to justify what has happened or is happening, just due to nationalistic and religious zeal, had I typed out my response on my computer instead of my cellphone. Because the lack of clarification (and my laziness) my comment came out antisemitic, brash, ignorant, and offensive.
tl;dr: wasn't trying to sound like a nazi, just didn't clarify statement.
in other news. I was actually on the CLG hypetrain before yesterday.

BTW, Chicago won the US Little League championships!
And then lost to SK for the World Series. Friggin Koreans went undefeated for the whole tournament. Just another thing that they're better at I guess.

All this talk about MtG reminds me why I stopped playing.

MonoG aggro is very funny in modern and only 70 tix on MtGO (40 tix being the 2 Thruns and 20 the 3 Dismembers).
I'm 2-1 in the current daily, only losing to Amulet of Vigor combo.

I was once hanging out at my friends' apartment. One of them was playing some MtGO, and after we had had a few drinks he said "fuck it" and bought all the cards necessary for a Tron deck. I sat there watching him play, and at the end of the night I decided that Modern is cancer as fuck.
