You attack with single creatures, when the enemy blocks it that card automatically joins, takes no damage because indestructible your turn, the blocker dies, you get a counter, you attack with the next creature, etc. to massively buff him, then you swing at face with Fly or something? Unless mana is ridiculous and were reprinting reflecting pool again (PLEASE REPRINT REFLECTING POOL), I don't even think that card will see play. It's a 5 mana ball lightning with a slight better upside in that it might live for a turn or two.

Being indestructible doesn't mean not taking damage, it just means it can't be destroyed. Attacks don't work like you think it works in Magic it seems. This isn't Hearthstone. It can be killed through state-based-actions though, like it having 0 toughness (Bile Blight as I said). This card is not that great. Mana will surely support it with the next cycle of lands but I still don't see it being a big player in Standard (Stormbreath Dragon can also block it ad vitam eternam).

EDIT : Ghalo : not really, Bile Blight/Drown in Sorrow/Chained to the rocks are played quite a lot in Standard. I don't really expect him to make any splash. Bile Blight stops it with <1 counter on it. Drown in Sorrow needs it to not get bigger, meaning you need to either prevent the damage or take it to the face because it's a sorcery. Chained to the rocks also gives it 1 turn of playtime where it either gets in for 7 or trades for something. I was speaking more from a limited standpoint though.

It's the "participates in every combat" that perplexes me. If you engage a creature, it gets blocked, you let it die, is the whole phase resolved, or you can engage another creature without having it join that combat to create another one? Aren't MtG creatures brought back to "full" after every combat phase anyway, contrary to Hearthstone, so it doesn't matter if it takes damage if it's indestructible ('cept for damage-triggered effects)?

Damage isn't taken off of creatures until the clean up phase, just before the end phase of each turn. Clean up is when you Discard down to 7, resolve EOT effects, remove damage.

There are shit mythics for flavor/jankiness reason, but most Mythic creatures with a castable cost are incredibly bombs yeah. See Polukranos/Stormbreath/Brimaz/Flamespeaker. Tons of cards are incredibly in limited (see triplicate, cone of flames) but will never make it to constructed. When it's a mythic, yeah I dare hope it's a bomb in limited but it won't affect many matches in the end. In Magic, there are 5 phases : Beginning Phase First Main Phase Combat Phase Second Main Phase End Phase The combat phase has a few steps : Beginning of combat Declare Attackers Declare blockers Damage Post-damage (which is useless and'll be removed one day) At the start of the declare attackers step, the active players declares all his attackers for the turn. That's it. You can't declare an attacker at any other point during the turn. At the start of the declare blockers step, same, the attacked player (or players in multiplayer) declare their blocks. Then after damage you check deaths and such, and that's where Urgo would get counters. At the end of the turn, damage is removed from non-dead creatures.

Just go to a few sealed/drafts or simple the Khanh's pre-release in 3 weeks and you'll find plenty of people to play with !

It's enjoyable enough and I don't have to venture out into the scary outdoors. All of my friends who play magic are ~1 away
