I feel like if you were 6-8 years older, you would have a completely different view of MMOs, before the market got flooded.

Only MMOs I ever played were City of heroes and then WoW. haven't played one since nor do I plan to ever again. Even were I able to have my time sucked away like that, they all look really similar/boring tbh. I tried RIFT for a few days. Meh.

Well, not really. For me, it's not really the nostalgia of the game (although I absolutely LOVED the exploration and feeling of wonder I had in vanilla). It was the challenge, the community, just the way things were built out that haven't really been achieved since. For someone who wasn't really popular at all in middle/high school, it was really good for me socially. Also, the friends I did have lived, on average, 20+ minutes from me because I went to a private school, so being social online was easier and often more realistic when I wasn't capable of driving yet.
While I have no real desire or ability to dump hours and hours into an MMO anymore, WoW was actually a really important part of me becoming the shitter I am today. Hell, I learned to type fluidly because of WoW. I was never taught typing in school, and was very slow at it in general. Many [way too] late nights of playing with the lights off forced me to learn where all the keys were.

I said 6-8 years older, not 25.

vanilla guildwars was the bomb, expansions were alright too, never played 2 tho. that and diablo is the closest i got to any other mmo out of unfounded prejudice.

Dayum. Priest plays Coin+ that 2/8 Taunt turn 2, hurts and I don't have any answers. Fast forward turn 4, I have a 4-1 Yeti, a SI:7 Agent, and a Loot Hoarder (brought by the deathrattle, value card for him ). He plays a Pyro, then Power Word: Shield on another taunt, then Circle of Healing, then Power Word: Shield again. Had he not miscalculated the circle, that shit was brutal. x')
And my Rogue deck is def. shit, I gotta improve it. + Show Spoiler +Backstab x2 Deadly Poison x2 Cold Blood Eviscerate x2 Blade Flurry Loot Hoarder x2 Faerie Dragon Acid Swamp Ooze Perdition Blade SI:7 Agent x2 SSC Harvest Golem x2 Defender of Argus DID Yeti x2 Assassin's Blade Assassinate Azure Drake x2 Argent Commander x2 The Black Knight Sprint

So many one-ofs. So little consistency.

Only rogue deck worth playing (to gain ranks anyways) is Miracle Rogue imo

Fuck I love GW1 and the weird ass builds people come up with that somehow still work in PvP. Where else are you going to get a critical wand build. Or Mesmers.

So that doesn't change the fact that a lot of MMOs since WoW have just been wow clones.

Mesmer main here. Mesmers were great but the general community were too dumb to realize their power.

Assassinate, Assassin's Blade (and Perdition), Sprint are hard to justify in doubles though. But the early game is def. where the problem lies, I just can't get going and the probability of getting some tempo isn't enough (then again I removed Defias because it's so easy to shit on it).
Damn, I can't even beat a Druid who's been spamming Mogu'Shan, Frostwolf Grunt, and other shitty taunts (looks like more than a third of his deck is taunts), says a lot.

Or Mesmers. heck yeah mesmer was the first class i tried because it was actually something original sounding, went with elemental for my second class and fast casted nukes all day! ugh my memory is so fuzzy from that long ago but this rings some nostalgia chords.
