On August 08 2014 13:38 Frudgey wrote: Did you win? What was the match-up? Battle report please! Also, it's pretty delayed, but happy birthday Requizen! Hope it was the best of days! Sincerely, Frudgey It was me and another Necron player vs Tau allied with Grey Knights. I, of course, brought my vehicle heavy list (2 Barges, the Stalker, and 2 Scythes filled with Immortals), and my ally brought lots of Warriors, one Ghost Ark, some Destroyers, and an Overlord on a Chariot. + Show Spoiler [Battle Report] + The Grey Knight player rolled Infiltrate for 3 units. Being Grey Knights, he only had 4 + a Flyer, and one was a Vindicare Assassin who already had Infiltrate, so he ended up deploying every unit at 18" away from us, and one squad 12" away behind a hill. Yikes. They deployed first and had first turn. Turn 1 the Riptide (because let's face it, there's always a Riptide in Tau lists) wiped out half of my ally's big Warrior squad himself, and the rest were dropped from the combined firepower of the two Infiltrated Grey Knight Strike Squadrons. First blood was really, really quick, but my Ally (who I've played with a lot) tends to not put things in cover, which causes this sort of thing to happen. They also got an objective that they already held, so they were already 2 points up when our turn came. We each had a couple hundred points in reserve that wouldn't come on until Turn 2, so we were playing behind. We held some objectives, took a couple potshots into the Riptide (nothing stuck), and did some other shooting. I killed his Assassin, which was pretty useful, considering it could wreck a vehicle pretty darn fast by itself. We just had to hold on until our next turn... ...which turned out not to be that hard. My Barges Jinked like champs, only one taking a Pen and ignoring the Crew Shaken result. The Ghost Ark took a glance but otherwise was fine. He ended up losing his min squad of Warriors, but they just were out in the open and I didn't expect much from them. Their Stormraven came in, but my Barge jinked his fire (phew). Our Turn 2 though, we had 2 Flyers come on, his Overlord in the CCB outflanked behind the Tau lines, and his Destroyers DS'd into a perfect position behind the Tau Crisis Suit Commander. Unfortunately, we forgot about all the Interceptor shots that Tau put out, and I lost 2 Immortals and my ally lost all 3 Destroyers on our own Movement phase. Bummer. All was not lost though, as my dropped Gauss Immortals managed to completely wipe the Vespids (who brings Vespids?), while combined Tesla fire brought one of the Grey Knight squads down to only 2 remaining (though one of them was the Psycannon). The Riptide took a Wound that stuck, and we killed the Crisis Suit Commander! At this point, I think actual Victory Points were pretty even, but I can't remember what Objectives were drawn. Turn 3 was iffy. I lost a lot of Tesla Immortals and my Warlord was wounded. I wasn't worried, since he had a Res Orb... but then I rolled an 11 for my Morale and they broke, which means they all died except Nemesor Zahndrekh and one lone Immortal. My Gauss Immortal squad was shot to pieces by Fire Warriors and Grey Knights alike, then charged with Hammer Hand powered Grey Knights and wiped to a man. It was fairly brutal. My ally got a break, though, as his remaining Warriors and their Ark were untouched, and his Overlord ignored all the petty shooting thrown at him. My vehicles though, as usual, stood fast and didn't care about squat. His flyer shot the same Barge, it jinked again. Our Turn 3, though, was the beginning of the turnaround for us. Sure, my ally only had 3 things left on the table. Sure, I lost all but 2 of my infantry. But that wouldn't stop us from reclaiming this world for the glory of the Necrontyr. My Warlord and his Immortal regrouped and did some snap shooting, but didn't do anything. One of my Flyers shot into the Riptide, doing some damages. I wiped the rest of the Grey Knight squad and my buddy dropped his Jokakero, only leaving him with his Warlord and that squad. My stalker and the Barges did a lot of shooting into it, wounding his Inquisitor once and killing a lot of Grey Knights, while one of my Flyers did another hull point off of the Stormraven. Then, the dream. My ally's Overlord on his Chariot charged the Riptide, Mindshackle Scarabs went off, and he did 3 of its 4 remaining wounds via combined Warscythe and the Riptide punching itself in the face. Most importantly, it couldn't shoot next round. The dream was realized. Turn 4 was really in our favor. The remaining Grey Knights shot a Barge, which had to Jink but was fine overall. The Flyer didn't shoot at all, preferring to Flat Out onto an objective and get them some Victory Points. The Crisis Suits shot my Warlord and remaining Immortal, killing them, and the Snipers shot into my buddy's Warriors, making them break and run. That kinda sucked, but wasn't bad. The surprise, though, was when the Fire Warriors charged the Overlord and Riptide combat, and brought down the Overlord with their EMP grenades. Not before the Riptide fell to the Warscythe, though, which got us an objective and also the moral victory of killing the Riptide. When it came around to us, we had to kill a vehicle for an Objective. The only one on the table was the Stormraven, and my Night Scythe was in range to zoom over to it. The jinks did not save it, the violent death and explosions were real. My other Scythe flew off the board, since it had no shooting to do. I did some more shooting from vehicles into the remaining Grey Knights, killing all but two and his Inquisitor. On the other side of the board, the Ghost Ark survived, but the Warriors were still running. Turn 5, possibly the last turn. They kill the rest of the Warriors. Nothing on the table left for us but vehicles. The remaining Grey Knights charge my Barge, which also puts them on an objective for a Victory Point. They punch it with Hammer Hand, penning the armor and doing one hull point of damage. More shots into the Ghost Ark, which it jinked but took one, surviving with only a single HP. Our turn. It all came down to this. Our cards were to hold 3 of the objectives, of which we could only grab 1, to kill a character, and to kill a Flyer (which their only one was already dead). They had 10 points, we had 7. I cruised a Barge onto a point, which also put me behind enemy lines, so we had Linebreaker. 9 to 10. If we could kill his Warlord Inquisitor, we would get 2 points (one for Slay the Warlord, one for the Objective card). I unloaded the Stalker, 2 Barges (who were only snap shooting), and a Flyer into his Inquisitor and two remaining Grey Knights. The volume of fire was pretty crazy, and when the smoke cleared he had lost both Grey Knights and the Inquisitor failed his 2+ armor save. Slay the Warlord, character killed, score came to 11 to 10 in our favor. We had lost 30 Warriors, 20 Immortals, 3 Destroyer, an Overlord and his retinue of 2 Crypteks and a Lord. They had lost every Grey Knight model on the table, a full squad of Vespids, one Crisis Suit and the Riptide, but had some Fire Warriors and Sniper Drones left. If the game continued, they could win via Objective Victory points, but they didn't have the capability to kill our vehicles via shooting. We rolled to see if the game went on... which it didn't. Necron/Necron victory by 1 point, after losing a good majority on both sides. A tense game!

I didn't want to go against the spirit of the thread but it still felt good reading it haha lolol that was great. I don't know how people get that sort of mentality in their head, it's really absurd how someone can think like that and expect people to pity him/comfort him. I spent most of the day just tossing around in my own head because I feel like this situation was my fault, when ultimately it was doomed from the start. I think I'm done with dating for now, this year has just been miserable for that and leads to me drinking way more than I should be anymore. Gunna go get The Last of Us remastered in a little while for the ps4 and possibly Mario Cart or whatever happens to catch my eye at the Game Stop. Hope everyone has a good weekend. Don't stress it too much buddy Relationships are hard, and until you find the one that works, it can be nothing but stress and heartache. Focus on you. Once you're happy with yourself, you'll know what you want out of life and who you want to be with, and it'll become a lot easier. Also, sometimes the best relationships happen when you're not actively trying to find them. Don't try to force it, just live your life and if you click with someone, great! Trying to start a relationship for the sake of starting a relationship is iffy and can be painful. Better to let it happen naturally imo. Enjoy TLOU, it's fantastic. Like other Naughty Dog games, it's more designed to be a cinematic experience than a gameplay focus, but the gameplay is tight and visceral and feels good. I enjoyed the tense sneaking sections and the breathtaking exploration, just going from place to place and experiencing the worldbuilding that was put into place. But I get where you're coming from, it's definitely something that sticks with you more than just a game for fun. What I played of TLoU, it was just enough actual gameplay where it didn't feel like a playable movie like some other recent titles are.
