maybe I can actually convince myself to clean a bit when I get home You know that feeling of the floor under your feet. Without any cat sand. That feeling. When you get in bed, and don't have to brush your soles. When you don't feel the acute need to sneeze just because you dropped something under your desk.

O_o
my place isn't that bad. I just have a bunch of boxes laying around that I haven't bothered to deal with, some dishes to do, a good desk cleaning that hasn't been done in a while, and some general vacuuming.

The Smite thread does have some good info that Req threw together, but I'm not sure how up to date it is.
General meta breakdown:
Short lane/solo - right now, sustain mages are really strong here (Ra, Chang'e, Aphrodite, etc.) as well as some other mages. Some warriors can still do ok here.
Mid - general burst mage spot
Long lane/duo - adc + support, after the relatively recent warrior slaughter, guardians are back in huge power for the duo lane (which I'm super happy about)
Jungle - pretty diverse, a lot of gods are viable here

Our cats are lazy, spreading sand all over the apartment. I've also been bringing in twigs for the dog to chew on, yummy!

Good morning friends, happy last day of the work week for (most) Americans!
I'm really looking forward to this weekend. 4th with my old high school bros, Saturday with family + gf, Sunday with me + relaxation, it's gonna be good.

Got a workout in the morning, a little Hearthstone gathering to get the Fireside cardbacks, chilling, dinner with friends, a orchestra pop concert in the outdoor amphitheater, then fireworks over the lake.

I've never actually been that into the 4th celebration (fireworks are pretty meh imo). But I'll be hanging with my friends near Boston and playing DnD this weekend (rather than DMing)
@PX - feel free to ping me in game if you have questions. I reserve the right to have no idea unless you're asking about adc or support

Man. Please go yolo. And get your character to wear Canadian colours. Yes with a "u" in it

To add to Soniv's write up a bit:
Unlike the "standard" LoL meta, Smite junglers can get to carry status very easily, so a lot of current popular junglers are Assassins (Bastet, Loki, Thor), high damage Warriors (Chaac, Osiris), or Freya. While you can go a tanky CC jungler like Ymir, Athena, or Tyr (although Tyr can build damage too), it's not expected of you by any means.
Supports are focusing a lot on Guardians right now, with Athena/Geb/Khumba being big picks and Ymir/Sobek/Bacchus being good too, some Warriors still do well as support. Hercules is very popular (and also can solo or jungle if need be), and you'll also see some Wukongs or Chaacs support from time to time. Few, if any, Mages make good supports - maybe Aphro but she's better solo right now.
Top picks/bans at the moment include: Scylla, Hercules, Osiris, Khumbakarna, Hun Batz, Thor, Artemis, and a few others I'm missing.
High picks are things like Apollo, Poseidon, Aphro, Isis, Geb, Athena, Janus, Bastet, and Neith.
There are very few gods that are "trash tier" that you'll get in trouble for playing.

If I end up being sufficiently pleased* with the amount of cleaning I get done when I get home, I may stream some Smite games.
*"Sufficiently pleased" being "was the amount of cleaning > 0?"

Just had a Skype meeting with coordinators of my program today---turns out I have more options than previously thought and the lengths they're willing to go to accommodate and help me with my requirements is almost staggering.
I cautiously say things are going pretty well right now.

I cautiously say things are going pretty well right now. You mean the part where you thought you were screwed and would "lose" 1+ years of your current med school (iirc) which would put you in financial turmoil, and finally it's not that bad?

Yay!

Waves in med school? Well you would think in general the one place that would fully understand and be willing to compensate for it would be that area of work/school
