"I'm going to exclude one of the leading causes of death in humans because it suits my argument." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sportspeople_who_died_during_their_careers Lots of deaths on that list that aren't 'car accident'(although there are a ton that are, which may also suggest that perhaps Ronaldo shares some of that 'reckless' 'I'm invulnerable' attitude that so many other athletes of modern times seem to have). In case you don't feel like scrolling through there are 50+ 'cancer' entries in all of that. That's the 'died from' list, not the 'got cancer' list, the reason the 2 lists aren't the same thing is because people cared enough about the disease affecting young people to learn how to treat it, because it's not just a disease that kills old people that were dying anyways.

Yeah it happens, but Oncologists make immense amounts of money compared to GP's and other doctors. cancer is where the money is in the medical field. so even if a young footballer gets cancer their salaries are comparable to what the top Oncologists make.

I just said that you have a drastically reduced probability of getting such diseases, I don't "randomly" exclude cancer, i said "most diseases" and not "all diseases" you're claiming ronaldo is has a reckless attitude which I don't think there's any evidecen for, and "I'm invincible" is hardly an attitude of a player known to dive now and then (however keep in mind its partially to attract attention to the massive amount of fouling that happens to a world class player in order to shut himdown) On June 17 2014 03:40 Slayer91 wrote: also someone like ronaldo is very unlikely to need anyone to save his life considering that he's in peak health and condition and is unlikely to develop any major disease maybe cancer when he's old and going to die relatively soon anyway this was my post can you please stop exaggerating and pointing out exactly why it was "stupid shit" and not you massively reading into everything i said you can argue semantics over whether "very unlikely" was too strong and I should have used "unlikely" or maybe explain "very unlikely in the near future, and still unlikely later on" but ultimately i you haven't shown my anything to say my post was in any was bad and i even explicitely mentioned cancer in the fucking original post??

Also, I put in like 3 modifiers to make sure nobody tried to say I am concretely saying anything about Ronaldo's level of recklessness(I know literally nothing about his private life/attitude), and you still put the words in my mouth. Truly an accomplishment.

Cancer killed some 550k people in the US in 2010(that was the date for the cdc stats, didn't care to dig seeing if they have more recent ones as for the purposes of this discussion it's just fine), which means that EVERYONE has a pretty damn slim chance of dying from it. "Someone like Ronaldo" is basically the same as saying "not fat people who aren't at high risk of diabetes and heart disease" which isn't saying much. That's pretty much my point.
