I might sound like a typical middle class American, but I miss the comforts of home. I don't like being out of my comfort zone for this long. I like my routine, and I miss being somewhere I know. Don't get me wrong. This has been great, Italy is beautiful and the history is wonderful, but I've had quite about enough.

I don't think that has anything to do with being American honestly. People just like their own routines and comforts. I think the most fun I've had on vacation was just a week where friends and I went to game reserve to chill. I've been to Europe with family and while it's fun for awhile towards the end you just want your own home back. My folks are actually going to Italy again in August I think for 6 weeks. Well Italy then Portugal to see relatives. Don't know how they going to manage that lol.

Actually the first thing I'm gonna do is drop off my bags and drive to my girlfriend's place and hug her for an hour. I'd say that lasts a whole two and half minutes. What are you going to do for the other 57 and half minutes with her. ZING

It's a combination of being in a completely different environment and not having any permanent place I think. You aren't settling in to a new location, merely visiting it for a bit. dunno never had a problem with that at all visiting things is nice

I understand where Req is coming from a lot. Sometimes you just want your own personal time to recharge doing things you always do but while visiting places you no longer can do that and it wears you thin I think. It's cool and you know you should be enjoying it more than you are but you just can't help wanting to go back. I imagine if Req had a house there he could go and just chill playing games then go back to visiting places he'd be fine :>

After a 15 month long application process (anger) I have finally been accepted to the Peace Corps. Going to be leaving in January and will be living in Thailand from 2015 to 2017. Funnily enough, the place they're sending me appears to only be about 100 miles from a city I've already been to. V. hooray.
