HeroMarine got bodied.
TIME just outplayed him. Everytime Hero took a lead he threw it away in a bad fight. TIME took smarter engagements consistently throughout the series. Game 3 in particular, HeroMarine had a massive lead but couldn't finish TIME off, and he just kept multitasking him to death.

If Has can't win on that map with the way he likes to play, I don't see him winning any of the other maps either. Looking like a 0-6 drop out in all TvP is likely.

One thing I like about Juan is that he carries a grudge. He hates losing to the same player twice.
Historically he's also been really good at playing against Has too--preparing well, and making sure to be proactive and prevent Has from doing his own thing (which is much better than the defensive approach that some players take against notoriously tricky players like Has, which only gives them more leeway to do their own thing).
edit: Oh and that's three falses for TLO's predictions.
On the plus side. Winner's bracket looks super fun now. Every match seems like it could be interesting. Going to be curious to see which version of Zest shows up.

Zest has recently been playing some pretty nonsensical stuff recently (even more than usual), so hopefully he puts up a good fight.

EDIT: Nice of Zoun to donate him a game though. Not surprising considering that map isn't in the GSL pool.
Liquipedia says that Zoun has a 0% winrate on Beckett--he's 0-7 on it now in tournaments, so maybe he's just not good with it.
Well he hasn't had to practice on it for the GSL qualifiers, and I'll make the bet that it won't be in the GSL map pool and even if it is it will be heavily vetoed.
So only in tournaments like these where Zoun doesn't play a lot anyway does he need to worry about it. Wouldn't surprise me if he had it vetoed on ladder too. It really is a horrible map for Protoss.
If it was a more standard map it would surprise me a lot more, but considering what it is, it wouldn't surprise me at all if I learned that he just doesn't practice it.

Well Zest is an innovator one of the few that Protoss really has. He'll stumble around in the dark and then occasionally find something he just blows everyone away with, until it becomes standard practice.
Blink DT late game (vs Terran especially) and the standard Adept timing builds were two recent things he was responsible for.
This is Trap's best map for this match up. He's using the same build he beat Maru twice recently with. If TIME wins this I'm going to be VERY impressed.

That's what I'm saying! You can't. Not if they are able to transition like that either.
Terrans need to start vetoing that map. So far it's only Trap that's abusing it but it won't be long before every Protoss notices and starts copying it.

I'm surprised that it took so long for Protosses to notice that. I distinctly remember PartinG did his blink stalkers strat on this map some time ago.

The most common veto for Terran currently in TvP bo5s is Jagannatha I think? I'm not sure why that is. Apart from Beckett which is noticeably better for terran the other maps seem pretty similar. Jagannatha and Romanticide are a bit better for Protoss, but not by a lot, so I'd have expected a bit more variety in vetoes based on personal taste.

Parting didn't have the follow up that Trap does. He tries to go for the kill more often and doesn't have Trap's discipline in his build order and follow up.
The way Trap is using that map is practically bullet proof. You have to pray Trap screws up and over commits because as long as he doesn't he is SURE to get ahead and if you try and counter pressure he can commit and kill you.
It's a brutal build on that map. I just can't see a way out of it, Maru put up as valiant an effort as you can, both maps he played against that in GSL Season 1 and Super Tournament but Trap still won convincingly.
Incredibly good play from Zest. When on form, his army control is just on a completely different level to anyone else. Such a shame that he is leaving soon, because he look to be in his best form in years.

Y'a hopefully he can finish the upcoming GSL season, I think he has a decent shot.

Last time on stream like 2 weeks ago, Zest stated that he still doesnt know about the date of his military service. Normally they let you know like 1-2 months in advance, so Zest probably can finish the GSL Season 2 and DH Summer Global Final as well.

"Normally they let you know like 1-2 months in advance" seems straight up rude lmao, they can't even give you the courtesy of a decent advance knowledge of when you have to end everything you're doing in your life

It's not 'rude' if it's something you have to do for your country. It's just how things are in S.Korea

Oh and not that it matters to me, but I'm PRETTY sure Aligulac had Serral stomping that match up too.
God I wish there were liquibets for this tournament I'd be rolling in points right now.
Also RIP Zoun. Serral is going to come with a vengeance in the lower bracket. No way he loses 2 ZvPs in a row.
The power rank only got a couple series wrong, and besides a power rank isn't a prediction of head to head outcomes?
And if you want to show that aligulac is flawed, why don't you set up another account and just vote following its advice for Liquibets next season (or you could figure out what it would have voted this season, but that's a bit more work).

That's against the rules, but that's really not a bad idea.

I mean you could make this an experiment, make another account and vote PURELY based on Aligulac predictions, then vote on this one with your own judgment and compare the two
Man, when Zest is on form, he looks like the best Protoss player in the world. His performance against Serral was amazing - the way that he controlled his army, pre-split army etc.

Zest was playing TvZ style against Serral in that last game with pre-split Stalker, Seiged unit of Colossi and Disruptor, while cleaning up the creep and slowly choking off Zerg units.

To play Devil's advocate, they are given 10 years to pick the date themselves. At the end of that decade stretch it comes down to "You're getting really old and time has run out so I guess we are going to have to finally make you go."

Ah ok I see, so it only becomes like this if you keep pushing it back, that makes sense
