Maru is on match point and he's still dominant. He'll have a chance to get it next year, and each time this trophy gets denied, the more valuable it will be when Maru finally does claim it.

It hurts but when I saw him smiling even in defeat I felt better ![]()

Maru still has a tone of years coming unless he decides to retire.

Imagine if TY hadn't fumbled that game 7 against Maru in 2018, where he was so far ahead and only lost because he failed to see Maru's hail mary coming. Then TY and Maru would both be at three championships today. It's funny how little actually separates these players in the end. (off-topic, but imo that is also Starcraft's major flaw compared to e.g. football)

Nah, TL Power Rank will only mysteriously appear when Byun or Taeja is on the upswing.

Real sports are often times decided by weird one off situations Patriots vs Giants the helmet catch. Tottenham vs West Ham that wonder goal by Lanzini. All these things can be decided by amazing moments that don't always make a ton of sense lol.

GSL isn't a league per se thus it will be decided by funky business.

The fact that he won SILVER after winning 4 golds so that now he has 4 golds and a SIlver in GSL Code S and somehow now THAT is a disappointment is a testament to how great he is in the world's finest SC2 tournament, and that's without mentioning his Super Tournament gold, which WOULD have counted if we were counting GSLs the way we did when Mvp was up for his G5L. No matter how I look at it. TY was the toughest opponent Maru can ask for. He's the best in the world at the match up that Maru is weakest at. I always knew this would be a coin flip and this series confirmed that for me. Maru will get another chance, probably 2 more. That trophy is his. I don't see TY winning 3 more before he gets one or Inno winning 2 before he gets one. He'll win the first G5L. It's not a matter of IF, but when.
