No... Showtime isn't strong, he got lucky Round 1. More like he got unlucky in round 2. Not many Protosses can expect to win a map against Maru atm.
Still was not a good showing from him of course.

Zest isnt the best PvPer.
he was the best last season and at HSC. But in the whole of 2018 he hasn't been that great that distinction goes to Classic.
Outside of his anamoly of a run last season Zest hasn't looked good AT ALL in 2018. Last season was literally his only good form and yesterday he looked like the same Zest that Scarlett knocked out back in Pyeongchang.

OT: Showtime is pretty legit.

No... Showtime isn't strong, he got lucky Round 1. Right He got the best PvP Player he's so lucky. 1) Zest is not the best PvP
2) Zest didn't give showtime even the slightest ounce of respect. He treated his match like he was leveling his smurf to GM.
That's not a true victory, it's a lucky pass.

I didn't catch the series vs Showtime just now, but Maru has seriously embarrassed even the very best protoss players recently. There's no shame in losing to him -- even losing to him really hard. I'd guess that sOs is the only protoss who could keep it competitive right now even when Maru prepares.

Can we please stop the "If foreigners win it's because Koreans were sucking?" stuff? We've already proven foreigners can actually play good series against many of the best.

I'm glad some random dude online is here to tell us that Zest is out of the tournament which is a SE bracket, becasue he "didn't give [his opponent] even the slightest ounce of respect". Really, very level-headed user. I bet you aren't some kind of a troll, but a regular function person. Amen to that.

So then, like normal Zest these days? I'm still surprised he somehow managed to make the GSL finals

It's funny that they're both scouting for proxies
